I have been in pain for a very long time and my cupboard has been filled with pain medication yet nobody has found the cause. I used to be fit and healthy, going to the gym and weight training, but the pain got worse and stopped me from going to the gym. I went to the doctors again and again, in and out of hospital.
First they thought it was my heart and that was all clear, then gallblader, ibs and so on. They finally told me it was GERD and my Hiatial Hernia was the cause. Thus in Jan of this year I had Nissan Fundoplication and stomach operation, nearly two months on and the pain still remains and the specialists have told me, it's not related to the operation or heartburn it has to be something else. The specialist was even touching my sternum area, mid lower chest and I was hurting to the touch.
Here are my issues
- Intense pain in sternum area, radiating to center back
- Two paracetamol or more a day to control the pain, which doesn't always work
- Breathing feels tight, most likely the pain causing restriction?
- Can sometimes have issues with eating, sometimes not
- Very cold ice water, ice cream or cold yogurt makes pain much worse
- Agitation, Anxiety, Excitement causes pain and delayed severe pain
- Picking things up, moving lots of things about can cause me grief, overuse?
- Far more pain when in a seated position, especially in the car and moving about
- Irritation when breathing can make me cough
- When pain is at it's worst i feel sick
No doctor and no specialist has found the cause and at 33years old, it's all out ruining my life. The pain in my sternum feels like i've been ripped inside, like TCP on an open wound. I've cried at times and feel nobody knows what i'm really going through
