ok so i was stabbed in my chest just below the right shoulder.. sounds horrible but i had time to catch his hand so it only went maybe and inch before i got the knife out and away. what could come of a wound like that to the chest on either side just below. an what could i treat it

Depending exactly upon the depth and location it could have been very severe. Assuming it is not now bleeding and that you are not having any problems breathing, or are in severe pain, or have any swelling, then it should heal. Clean the wound as best you can, then keep it clean and dry.
If you notice any yellowish discharge, or feel ill, see your doctor.
