Hello! I burnt my hand a week ago and I have a blister. At first the wound was red, inflamed and painful but after few days the pain was decreased. Now, the pain has gone and I think the wound is not inflamed any more but I have this constant weeping. I don’t know what to do. Should I visit my doctor again? How to stop a burn wound from weeping?

Hello! Burn wounds with blisters need around two weeks for healing. The burn should be covered with sterile gauze. The weeping will stop as the burn begins to heal but if infection occurs it will not heal and the weeping will continue. You should visit your doctor who will prescribe some antibiotic and check if you are protected from tetanus. Antibiotics will cure the infection and help the wound to heal and the weeping will stop.
