Hi, guest. Tretinoin is a potent retinoid commonly used for acne treatment and skin rejuvenation, but it can have side effects, including skin irritation, peeling, and changes in skin pigmentation. The white marks you're describing could be due to a few different factors:

  1. Hypopigmentation: Tretinoin may cause lightening of the skin in some areas, especially if used in higher concentrations or more frequently than recommended.

  2. Skin Irritation: Even if you don't notice immediate irritation, tretinoin can sometimes cause mild inflammation, leading to color changes in the skin.

  3. Healing Process: When tretinoin is used on pimples or blemishes, it accelerates the skin's healing process, which can sometimes leave behind lighter or darker spots.

Here are some steps you can take:

  • Pause the Treatment: If you notice unusual skin changes, it's a good idea to stop using the cream temporarily and observe if the condition improves.

  • Moisturize: Keep the affected area well-moisturized. A gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer can help soothe the skin.

  • Sun Protection: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. Sun exposure can worsen skin discoloration and hinder the healing process.

  • Consult a Dermatologist: If the white spot persists or you have concerns, it's best to consult a dermatologist. They can provide a proper diagnosis and suggest appropriate treatments, which might include topical creams to even out skin tone or other interventions based on the cause of the discoloration.

  • Patience: Skin discoloration can sometimes take a while to resolve, especially if it's related to the healing of a blemish.

In the future, when using products like Airol, it's important to follow the instructions carefully, start with a lower concentration if you're new to retinoids, and gradually increase the frequency of use as your skin becomes accustomed to the treatment. This helps minimize potential side effects like irritation and discoloration.

Good luck!
