am i protected yet on birthcontrol ortho tri cyclen?

i started my period on sunday march 28th so that is when i started my birth control the doctor told me either the sunday start or start the day my period comes well it just happened to come on sunday haha but i was wondering if i am protected right away she said that i would be protected right away if i started it either the sunday start or the first days start but i cant remeber which one she said you are protected right away she said to still use condoms for 2 weeks but the other night on thursday the 11th me and my boy friend where messing around and we ended up having unprotected sex but he pulled out before he cumed so am i still ok or am i pregnant? am i protected right away bc i started my period on sunday and thats when i started the pill? i know i should of waited but we got caught up in the moment. tonight will b 2weeks of taking the pill
