Yes they do and I would try to consider them before the surgery! I had the very same problem in the very same area and had the surgery! Helped with the neck pain and shoulder pain, some, but both my arms now hurt like crazy and bad trigger finger and pain in my right hand all the time. Hands and arms worse after and all the surgeon can say is the MOI looks good. I would truly consider less invasive methods and prayer!

I'm 25 and had a fusion on c6-c7 a year ago. My pain never stopped, I get headaches pain in my neck, shoulders, shoulder blades and right arm. I am now stuck on pain killers and it doesn't even help much. I just had laser spine surgery a month ago and I'm still in the same pain. I am a bit relieved that it's not only me but I really hope God can help all of us to make this pain go away. I am now super depressed and would just like to have my life back. I seriously give myself another year and will just kill myself if my pain doesn't go away. I really cannot live like this. I commend you all for being so strong and handling this pain. My life went from being really good to the worse ever. I really hate that people don't understand how bad this pain is and how it affects our minds and daily duties. If anyone did any procedure or any miraculous thing that made the pain go away, please reply and let me know. Thanks!

I had the same surgery 14 months ago and am head back to have the surgery don again due to failed fusion. I went to an orthopedic spine Dr. and a Neurosurgeon both excellent Dr.'s. I started having pain in my shoulder blades , arm and hand about 7 months after surgery. My suggestion would be see and orthopedic it could be anything, lack of fusion, the hardware is loose, or you are having a reaction to the metal. Good luck.

I'm looking anywhere for answers... just had the electrode/needle procedure this morning... came back with no damage. Had C6-7 fused in December '14 and not much relief, but pain in neck is constant, numbness and pain in forearm is returning, hands are numb, etc. Had another MRI still waiting on results as the dr is only in on Tuesdays. I have had 4 lumbar fusions over the past 11 yeas in L3-4-5-S1 and while I know that will always be uncomfortable, it's not painful like the neck. I'm 44 yr old female so age is part of it, but I shouldn't feel this bad! Asking for pain medication is not even worth it anymore cause they make you feel like some junkie looking for a fix... but mentally and physically this is taking a toll! I hope in this past year you have gotten answers and some relief? Hope someone can send some hope my way.

Hi I had a cervical diskectomey in December of 2012 and I am still suffering from pain in my neck into my right ear down my right arm and into my right hand. I had a cubital tunnel release May 2013 and yet again I am still suffering...very frustrated I know...Now I'm doing Botox to help releave the pain of headaches and arm pain...I am hoping you're feeling better but I have the same doubts!!
I now see a Psychiatist and he seems to be helping me. Talk to your Primary Care doctor and see if you have more options!!

I have been searching the internet with this frustrating pain and feeling all alone. I am sorry your in this pain but we have much in common. I had my cervical fusion March 2014 C4-5(C-5-6,6-7 were done by different doctor in 2012). After first surgery in 2012 I had a disc collapse one month after surgery. Second surgery woke up feeling great went home with a hard C collar. Third day after surge I started having same Pain in shoulder, and down my arm and my fingers were stinging again. I waited for my two week check up to tell doctor. When I told of the pain and how it still hurts to use now either arm because strangely enough my right side had decided to join in. I was told now I have a shoulder in just and I needed another MRI. I said no I do not I was checked out by this very doctor for shoulder problems before he even started treating me. I was told I have torn my ligaments at my Atlis and Axis . So my skull is not sitting straight on my spine. I have the same arm pain you describe . I hate to wash my hair or have to try and fill out paperwork. I can't write but for just a few words and I start writing like a beginning student. I am 48 so this is so embarrassing. I have learned that if you wait to long for a cervical disc injury you can cause your entire spine to get out of alignment and start having lower back problems. I know 48 sounds old to younger ones. But I still enjoyed walking throwing a football or shooting hoops with my teen boys. Going shopping with my teenage daughter when she lets me. I feel so restricted in my activities now that I am in a stupid recliner most of the time. I hope the best for you. But you don't give up looking for the reason your having this pain. We should at least try and live without disabling pain.
