Hello there! I am a 32 years old, male, a construction worker. I have a arthritis in big toe and am advised to correct it with a fusion surgery. Is this a common procedure? Any experiences?

Hello! My son had a fusion surgery as well. It is actually recommended to young fit people, especially those people with heavy jobs which would be you, right?
The fusion surgery removes the painful joint and stiffens it completely. The statistics say that about 95% of people will get rid of their pain. But the toe will be stiffer and it may be hard for you to choose shoes as it is for my son. In some cases it is possible to get arthritis of the small joint in the middle of the toe after a fusion, but this is usually not such a big problem
