This happened to me too, I couldnt eat enough yogurt to make a dent though, and I'm wary of putting more pharmaceuticals up my hooha (I'm on the ring). I started taking acidophilus pills daily (cheapest ones I've found at trader joes) and the problem has completely cleared up. Yes!!!

i had never had a yeast infection in my entire life and had been on the same birth control pill for almost 10 years. a little over a year ago i started getting yeast infections every month about half way through my pack. i saw the doctor repeatedly and tried everything you can think of and they wouldnt go away. until it occured to me (not the practitioner) that it may me my hormones changing and the pill might be too much for me. so after over a year of reoccuring yeast infections i switched to a lower dose estrogen pill and they went away. not to mention, my mood improved as well as my sex drive. also to who ever mentioned HIV and yeast infections...its actually just one of the possible signs of already having HIV (reoccuring yeast infections) bc HIV weakens your immune system. therefore you get sick easily. dont freak yourself out though, it doesnt mean you have HIV just bc u cant kick the yeast. usually pneumonia that occurs more than twice in a year is a classic indicator of possible HIV. its the pill in most cases, it took me forever to figure it out on my own. -nursing student

Hi Ladies,  I came across this site because I was trying to find some answers for my problem. I've been on BC's for 2 1/2 yrs and I've been suffering with the same problem. In the begining I didnt think to much of it cause Ive always been kind of senstive to everything even condoms but as the months turn in to yrs I knew somwthing had to be up I was even blaming my boyfriend for being the cause of my problem. I have been on lessina all this time ate yogurt until I couldnt anymore even ordered Provella online cause my Dr said it would work. So last month my pharmacist gave me another brand of BC's because they didnt have Lessina in stock. And what do you think happened NO INFECTION so the this month I get back on Lessina by the second wk I get it..All this time my Dr kept on telling me its my body but now Im convinced its the pills..So Im calling my Dr this week to change my script...

I have been on BC for about 3 years, and I never had a yeast infection until I started, I also get one about once a month! I talked to my OBGYN and he suggested it was the pill and told me to get probiotic pills that you vaginally insert. He said they have to be the kind that are refrigerated or it won't be effective. Hope this helps!

Hey ladies! So I've been having the exact same problem. I recently stopped taking Tri-Sprintec because I was getting yeast infections every single month on the same day of the pack, and have now started on Generess Fe. It seems to be working well- but we'll just have to wait and see. Acidophilus never worked for me. I've tried it all and I swear by FEMDOPHILUS. It really works. It's refrigerated and a little more expensive, but when you're having to pay for yeast infection medication every month it's worth it.

Have to switch birth controls it looks like. I'm going have to do the same. In have the kind thats inserted inside and I think it's causing an infection .. (had it 4 years now.) *sighs* I'm going to miss not having anemia ..

I have the exact same problem. EVERY month. its like clockwork. anyways, I found a study on webmd- where you take diflucan once a week and decreased your yeast infections by 90%. I talked to my doctor and she agreed to prescribe me the diflucan in mass quantities and I take it once a week. Seems to be working so far... Hope this helps!
