Well hi, my name is jordan and im 15-yes, i am female. And the exact same thing has happened to me. First i get the shivers, then i feel really sick, then i start sweating like crazy. After my my eyesight slowing goes blurry-this tales about 3 minutes to actually kick in. Then i can only hear distant things that people are saying. Its quite a scary thing. The first time this happened to me was when i had a fever. id had the fever for about 2 weeks and i was having difficukties in breathing. After having a slight fight with my parents about gooing back to school when i felt like death this happened. I lost everything. Apparently i was moving about in circles. I quickly sat on the floor as i had an instinct to. My parents were just stanidng there laughing at me (or my performance as they called it), and told it was nothing and i just needed to drink some water. they were wrong as as soon as i got up i puked all over my kitched side which was lovely. My parents werent very happy with my "performance".
It happened a couple times after that aswell. But the most embarressing one is when i was on my way to france. I just dropped my car off at one of the car park places. That da it was about 35 degrees and i was baking. When waiting for the bus to arrive i felt a little sick. Now everytime this happens anxiety kicks in and you start panicking about having another one of these blackouts. I got on the bus and was made to stand up. The whole bus was full and i didnt know what to do. It wouldnt of happened if some bitchy ginger girl didnt sit down, i mean how dare she. ;). At this point i have a blackout infront of the whole bus. EVERYONE WAS LOOKING AT ME-EVERYONE. So embaressing.
I really have to go get this checked put because its not normal and no one i know has actually had one before. God help me.
I hope i have shared some happiness on your blackout occassions by humiliating myself. Youre welcome.

Hi all, I've experienced these types of fainting spells/passing out but still being "conscious" and only for a short period of time, since I was a teenager. I'm 22 now and it happens to me less in every day situations, but more when I'm on my period or after very light alcohol consumption (less than 1 drink). After a LOT of research I believe this is what I have:basically it's fainting caused by a SUDDEN drop in blood pressure (which is why many of you went to the doctor and may have been told your blood pressure is normal). Many triggers can cause this and it's usually a temporary event. The best thing is to know your triggers, tell everyone you know to help you by finding a place for you to lie down safely and allow the blood to return to your brain. Also, if you MUST stay sitting or standing (ie you're in a public space) contract your leg and trunk muscles as this forces the blood up into your head (this is what pilots and the Queen's guards do to keep from passing out). Good luck and stay safe! It's extremely unpleasant to have this disease but it's also not life-threatening unless it's related to your heart which is something that your doctor can test.

I am 15 and a girl and this exact same thing happened to me this last summer. We were on vacation in Cambodia and were shopping in the street markets under the tents, when suddenly I couldn't hear anything, it felt like I was underwater, then everything slowly turned white so I couldn't see. My sister said I was super white and sweating like crazy. I couldn't stand straight, so my mom had me sit down on the steps. She tried to give me some water and a plastic bag in case i needed to vomit, but the water didn't help and I didn't feel like throwing up. Then this old Cambodian grandma came and offered my mom some strange peppermint liquid. My mom spread some on my upperlip and as soon as I breathed in it was gone. Like BOOM. It went totally away. I stayed sitting for another minute or two, and then I was all good. The whole thing lasted only about five minutes. My suggestion is to carry a little bottle of peppermint extract or toothpaste with you, and whenever you start to feel the symptoms sit down and start smelling that stuff. I don't know what causes it, but the mint works very well. :)
