Hi, I'm 25 years old and 6 months ago I was having problems urinating frequently and went to see a urologist and he felt a fullness and I was sent for an ultra sound. Two hours later my doctors was calling me and I have an appointment the next day with a guynocologist. Apparently the discovered a mass that looked like the size of a basketball, then i was sent for a Cat Scan but it was so large they couldnt really see anything and then I was reccomended to an oncologist obgyn for exploratory surgery. I had a CA125 test that was 356 before the surgery so they were really worried it was stage IV ovarian cancer. From the time I went to the specialist and to when I had surgery was 4 days. Everything happened so quick and when it was all done, I had a full hysterectomy and they removed a 10lb ovarian mas that was interconnected to everything so nothing could be saved. they took out lymph glands and scraped my omentum, removed my appendix and anything they thought was cancerous. After two agonizing weeks of waiting for my pathology report, I was diganosed as having a borderline ovarien mass with non-invasivie implants. After the sugery my CA125 was 19 and six months later 13. Since then I have been put on estrogen, but since then my moods have really been up and down and I feel depressed at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone out there has been through something similar and how you feel since this surgery.

I never had surgery for an ovarian mass, but I was put on birth control pills (estrogen) to help decrease a mass. I felt very up and down, like a crazed monkey in a cage.

If you feel it necessary, see your doctor again and ask if you can be put on something else. Wild yam and chaste tree are good, natural sources of estrogen, so talk to your doctor about using that instead. (I wouldn't recommend doing that without talking to a physician.)
