I was born with only one as well. Now 30, growing up I never told any girls and was really shy. I did have sex and everything worked fine but it kinda messed with my head. I went to the doctors one day to talk about this and he told me there is prosthetic testicles that can be inserted to make it look normal. I had it for about 8 years and was told to get it redone every 10. Actually was painless and no scaring. He told me about 2 types... one that is made of a softer material and one that is made with a hard material. He advised me to get the hard because it would never rupture. At that time i would had said yes to a brick inserted, lol. Now that Im 8 years with it i wished I got the soft because it does in now way feel normal (it does look normal) and once again i wont let any chicks touch it cus it would be a dead give away. next one gonna get soft one and see how it goes. I feel for you guys out there. Keep your chin up, you only live once and let me tell you something.... that shot you get will always keep your testosterone level as if you were a 18 year old teenager so thats a benefit when it comes to working out. I advise you guys to work out hard and drink alot of protein and you will grow muscle faster than a normal person so to speak. I hope I helped someone out there. -D

To those whom may have answers to my questions,
First, I just received news that my 3 year old son has no sign of testicles. He's gone through extensive tests ( Multiple MRI's, etc.) and it is clear that they have not produced. Currently, his physician is positive that his testicles died well before birth and may still be swimming around in his body. Worst fear, doctor states, is that it may produce cancer, more or less around his chest cavity. The doctor recently ordered nine viles of my son's blood because she wants to cover all basis. There is no cancer evident at this time but Doctor is sure that he has a chance of getting cancer later as the cancer particles grow with age. It's still early for any solid proof nor data to diagnose anything right now but the doctor believes that exploratory surgery may be in his future. Tearfully, it will be through his chest. I need any answers, any advice, anybody that may give me hope that my son will grow normal and healthy. Will he experience sexual feeling? Will he get an erection? Will he grow hair? Anything, Please...and if anyone knows, what are the main causes of this ailment?

My husband was born without testicles. For those of you that are embarrassed, there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone is different in their own way. I love my husband just the way he is. He told me soon after we started dating. I honestly feel that it was the hardest thing he ever had to do was to tell me he was born without testicles. There are other alternatives to having a family, and I know this coming into the marriage that there is a strong possibility that we may never have children together. If we did, I would have to go through invetro fertilization with a sperm bank. For the mother that found out that her 3 year old son does not have testicles, my advice to you is to not allow the doctors to assume things. If he has some kind of cancer, they will find out. When my husband was a child, he went through exploratory surgeries, which traumatized him. Sometimes the doctors just do not know what to do when they see something like that, so they figure, check it out. Instead allow your son to be a child, and explain to him later what the deal is.

Hi im 19 now and i was born without testes aswell, its actually relieving to see that im not the only one and that i can get close to someone and not fear the rejection because of who i am, when i was younger i went through many different tests though most of which i have to no memory of. The doctors told me that i would have to have testosterone injections to go through puberty and that there are many different ways to take the hormone. patches, gel, depot injection etc. Also ive been offered prosthestics but im not sure about it, any help would be great thanks

Hi guys I'm 21 and was also born with dried up testicles inside my body. I'd like to personally thank all of you for posting your stories, it is like reading my own life from a different perspective as I have also experience the same things and I am very grateful you have shared them. I've had a hard time coming to terms with it all but I believe I'm on the right track now I found the love of my life and she is very supportive and we've been together for 4 great years so far. I always believed I would never accomplish this in my teenage years and I went through the same emotional distancing from girls that one of the previous comments mentions. I always thought I was the only guy who went through this. I found relationships difficult and they usually ended after a week or so in the past because I wasn't confident in myself towards the girls even though I was very attracted to them, and I also found breakups very difficult as it was almost as if I believed that would be my last ever girlfriend. Throughout growing up I went through bouts of extreme stress and depression, and feeling like the only man in the world who goes through this made talking to my councillors and shrinks almost pointless as I never really dared to speak how I really felt. For anybody who is wondering or perhaps of a curious young age, yes you can have great sex and yes you can have orgasms and ejaculate and achieve erections, but my advice would be to sleep with people you love or trust because it makes the mental side of sex much easier and takes the anxiety away which can be a real killer for your penis. Also, I have had numerous types of hormone treatments, starting when I was about 11 or 12. The first was in tablet form which kickstarted puberty and growth, then I began applying gel in the mornings at an older age which I found very stressful and was awkward at sleepovers or mornings after parties when I'd have to go to the bathroom with the sachet I'd been hiding all night! I am now currently on Nebido injections in the rear which although quite painful are much easier than daily treatment and would highly recommend it if you are given the choice. I was on 3 months at a time but was then reduced to 4 months as my testosterone levels were too high. I'm sorry this comment is so long but I feel every bit of information may help! I am now currently having to take calcium tablets to increase my bone strength as my bone development is a little under average so its important to keep up on the calcium guys. For anybody who is in a dark/depressed place because of this situation I have been there and I know what its like but trust me it gets easier with time and don't ever give up on yourself. You will be a fine man with as much potential as anybody else, and personally I like the guy I have become because of this, its made me a much stronger, braver and compastionate person than I ever thought I would be. Dealing with infertility is no easy matter and it is a life long struggle but you are not alone. For parents out there, as your child reaches an age of curiosity make sure you explain everything as my main struggle in life so far has been not understanding 'how' and 'why' this happened and thus it was very hard to come to terms with until I found out for myself. I have the best parents in the world but I've still only ever spoken to them about this a few times in my whole life so make sure you talk to them because its not an easy thing to bring up. Again, I apologise for the length of this comment, I'm just very happy that I've finally found this forum of guys like ourselves and am eager to help or talk with others, so please get in touch. Thankyou all

Matthew 19 11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

As stated above, males born without testicles will need to see their doctor for hormone therapy beginning around age 12. This is HIGHLY important. There are several ways to administer the hormone (weekly/monthly injections, patches, and topical gels). The male will need to continue this therapy for life in order to maintain sex characteristics (facial hair, muscle mass, bone density). Also, the hormone therapy will enable the male to ejaculate.

Males that do not go on the hormone therapy and continue to go through 'puberty' will experience a distorted growth. The adult male will have longer legs and arms in proportion to torso, reduced genital size, and their bones will be brittle. They will grow little to no facial/body hair, probably have difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection and unable to ejaculate. Research Eunuchs for more information on physical effects of testosterone deprivation.

With the Hormone therapy, and cosmetic surgery (the male equivalent of a boob job), the condition is virtually undetectable by partners. If you go for the prosthetics, GET THE SOFT kind as the hard ones won't fool anyone.

I highly suggest seeing a good therapist, as the inability to father children coupled with the hormone spikes takes one hell of a tole on the mind.

My best friend has recently confided in me about not being born with testicles as he is suffering from obvious side effects of the Nebido injection, have any of you experienced side effects from this and been able to combat it? He has also expressed feeling of not being normal, to me it seems like he has not understood or been told the ins and outs of not having testicles. He has had implants, but I feel he's really unsure about him self and what it all means. I want to help him and will totally be a support for him in what ever way he needs me. Could you point me in the direction of any information i could read or anything to help me or him? Thank you :)

the only obvious side effects from the nebido injection that I am familiar with is acne. Unfortunately, this is a very common side affect of hormone therapy. I have found that for me personally, the acne is much better if I am on a steady stream of medication (daily dose). The weekly/monthly/tri-monthly therapy sends your body on a hormone roller coaster ride, with spikes and crashes. There is a daily medication called Axiron. It's a topical liquid you apply under your arms (on top of deodorant). If your friend is interested, have him talk to his doctor about it. My doctor was even able to hook me up with a year co-pay card from Lilly (the manufacturer) and I'm able to get a months worth of Axiron at a time for 25$..... without insurance.

You have to see a doctor because you will need testosterone replacement. You can also have implants put in. Yes very rare.....1 in 50,000 you need to see a uroligist & endoconoligist
