I've just spent the Easter break terrified that I'm pregnant, because I'm having many of the early signs of pregnancy that I had when I got pregnant with my daughter. I took Plan B a week ago, and these symptoms only came on in the past 2 days. Sore, tingly breasts, constipation, mild nausea, gassy, increased sense of smell. When I fell pregnant with my daughter (planned) I was having these exact same symptoms, even in the very days before getting a positive pg test even. I'm not due yet for my period, but I've tested and it's negative, but it's probably too early to tell. My situation is different from some of the others because the plan B that I took was probably expired (and possibly inactive?). I have already thrown away the empty packet, so I cannot go back to check. I had some plan B stashed away "for an emergency", but cant even remember how long ago I bought it (my daughter is now 3 so longer than that).
I thought I was probably ok, even though it happened on day 14, the condom was still on, but a lot of it had come out at the bottom. I'd checked 'inside' of me and could not detect any smell of sperm, so concluded that I was probably ok, but took the 'expired' plan B, kind of as an afterthought.
I had no idea that plan B hormones can have such a powerful effect and so long after taking it, and still haven't ruled out pregnancy, but these posts have eased my mind a little. I will bookmark this page and let you know how I get on, whether I get a period soon!

PS I am on day 25 of my cycle, the incident happened on day 14, took plan B on day 16.
My cycles vary anywhere from 23 days to 31 days.

I am now on the evening of day 26, have had a bit of spotting, and am hugely relieved to see it. The sore breasts are less, and the feeling of constipation (without really being constipated) is easing. But this past weekend, I have never been more scared in my life. I was 99.9% convinced that I was pg (I have 3 kids so I know what it feels like).
I think there should be a warning in big red letters in the instructions of this EVIL medication
"WARNING: THIS PILL WILL TRICK YOUR BODY INTO THINKING IT IS PREGNANT, SO DONT BE ALARMED."
It's been a huge wake up call for me. I wasn't able to go on the pill (I was still breastfeeding my daughter) and was relying on condoms only, and we all know that they can slip / split / etc. I am now going back on the pill immediately. Just waiting on my period to start in full force.

Yes, this is the biggest relief, I don't even mind the period pain so much this time, because I would rather have that than still sitting here wondering. Today it started in full force. Tomorrow was the earliest appointment I could get for the pill, and will start it immediately. I am never going to allow this kind of situation to happen again. From now on it will be the pill AND condoms, every time. I am too old to be worrying about plan B and all that kind of nonsense.

Hello again!! This is Amber from Page 9! Sorry that I'm so late. I got really busy with school. :D Sooooo this is what happened. On the same day I posted, January 14, I got my period at work. So weird, yet I was very relieved! It lasted like a regular period. I was still worried (like we all were), so on January 21, I took a pregnancy test. Got a negative, and I still continued to worry. I got my period on the 12th of February, and got a negative test on February 27. After that, I realized I wasn't pregnant. If you ask me today if I still think there's a chance, I would say yes, because we just psych ourselves out so much over this stuff. I haven't seen my boyfriend since the incident. LOL Men just sicken me now hahaha (kidding, maybe not o.O). Oh and in March, I got my period on the 14th.

So many women with the same concerns. I came across this for reassurance, and wish more people would reply with updates. I've been pregnant five times: three kids, one miscarriage (twins) and one abortion. I've taken Plan B about seven times in the last couple of years, and never have I experienced such extreme side effects. With doing the math, my "incident" occured right at mid-cycle, so I'm certain I was ovulating at the time, or just about to. I took the pill within the first 24 hours. I was symptom-free until about a week after taking it. I started having really tender breasts and slowly putting on weight. I've been pregnant enough to know the symptoms, and I would've bet money that I was pregnant. I was sooo relieved when I got my period today, right on time. My breasts were not at all tender this morning, so I was really hoping my period was on its way, and sure enough, it was. Just wanted to put some positive vibes out there. Don't get too discouraged, ladies! Just be patient!
