I'm on the birth control shot, 21 years old and was sexually active with my boyfriend but were aren't together so am currently not sexually active anymore (we did not use condoms but am sure im not pregnant because it has been over 4 months since our last time). I have brown discharge on and off and have been since being on birth control. It lasts from a few days to a few weeks is light with a normal odor. It happens every couple of weeks. Have been on birth control since July 2009 but switched to the shot instead of pills in beginning of November 2009 because the with the pills I was on my period for a month and a half. I don't have medical insurance so I cant get checked out but I want to know if it is serious so I can find away to get the money to go to the doctors.

When you are on Depo or any other BC, it can actually take over 3 months for your body to become ADJUSTED! to the new combination of pills! Some women state that their periods are VERY light, and others don't have one for months and months on end! So I think that THIS is your new reality! Nothing to worry about by the way! Just keep any eye on it, I'm sure it will settle down within a month! Good luck and health!
