Hi, I had an abortion about 4 months ago and depo shot right after it. I've been experiences a brown discharge and cramps for the past whole month but didnt have time to go see a doctor. The shot is suppose to work for 3 mons, i had sex beginning of last month and was just trying to make sure that I dont get pregnant again, I went ahead and took the morning after pill. That was just a month ago. Im wondering if that has anything to do with the discharge. And when will I start getting my normal period again?

Okay you know that depo provera injection gives you a 3 month protection from pregnancy and if you had sex after that it was a good decision to take the morning after pill. But if it happened within these 3 months then you shouldn’t panic as you were still safe. Have you ever got another depo injection? If not yet, are you planning to?
You should know that the pattern of women’s period changes when they start getting depo provera injections. It seems like it’s getting lighter and lighter and is leading to a complete loss of menstruation.
As the matter of the brown discharge you had after taking the morning after pill, there is also the explanation for that. The morning after pill is actually a high dosage of the birthcontrol pill and when you take it, it ends the pregnancy within 72 hours. The brown discharge should be a miscarriage bleeding due to the separation of your uterine lining. Well, if this brownish discharge doesn’t go away, you should consult your gynecologist.
