Cardiac catheterization is a test to check your heart and coronary arteries. It’s an invasive test in which a catheter is introduced into the heart. A cardiac catheterization can tell your doctor about the structure and function of the heart valves, the heart's ability to pump blood, and the pressure within the heart chambers.
