Could anyone let me know if this has occurred to them. I usually have regular periods and start almost exactly on the day I should. I have not had sex for a year and a half and a couple weeks ago I had unprotected anal sex. I was supposed to start 2 days after that day but still have not. I was afraid to have intercourse because I have not been on the pill for a year the pill so we opted for anal sex. I am worried that some how there was precum that could have entered vaginally but I don't know if that is too far fetched. I freak out easily about things like this. If anyone has noticed a delay from not having sex for a long time could you please let me know. Also, I am not sure if I may have a tampon lodged in me because at the time I had a tampon inserted in case I started but could not remember if I removed it so I'm not sure if that's what may be causing the delay as well ?

Thanks

becoming sexually active again after a long absence can throw off your cycles, yes.

if you might have a tampon lodged in you it would obviously restrict the flow of blood, but you MUST get this seen to by a doctor because it carries a HUGE risk of TSS! which can be fatal! and is extremely unhygenic to have that stuck in there so get to the doctor or get it out of there asap!

the anal and vaginal openings are in no way connected. you cant get pregnant from having anal sex. they are two seperate organs! the anal opening doesnt lead to the womb, it leads to the bowels and colon!!!!

the only way you could have POSSIBLY conceived is if semen had then got out of the anus and ran down into the vaginal opening. but cases of getting pregnant this way are very rare!

and even if you had somehow conceived, if you had sex two days before your period you would almost certainly not be at a very fertile time, and you wouldnt be able to miss a period two days after sex!

becoming pregnant doesnt happen instantly, it takes 14 or so days for the sperm and egg to fuse and the egg to implant in the womb and the womb to release the hormones that stop the period from coming!

so i doubt very much you could have gotten pregnant if you are so sure you might have a test would be accurate by now

There are so many reasons that has nothing to do with pregnancy. When I was younger I was sure that whenever my period is late for a couple of days, it has to do something with pregnancy - even when I was not intimate with my bf.

Delayed menstruation causes so many things and we are not aware of those things.

Anyway, let me answer your question - sure. After abstinence you can have problems with your period. I assume that someone will tell you that those are some life changes that you are going through.

Maybe you were stressed? If you combine stress with abstinence, it can cause your period to be late.
