my boyfriend is diabetic and depentent on taking insuline 730 shot 1x per day. I have noticed since we have been together, that we dont' have sex very often. I have heard that this is a problem with most males that have diabetes. Is this true? I was also told that taking a natural herbal-yohimbe would help alot with his sex drive. Is this true? and is this a safe herb to take or can you recommend something else? ~Sexless

Well I dont know much about being diabetic, but if you plan on having a long lasting relationship with him then your sex life is going to be a lot more important to him. I know when my husband gets stressed out he does not want to have sex that often, but he does becuase he knows that it is an important part of a relationship... I dont know if the herb would help or not, but I think it would be something worth trying, if not maybe go to the Dr. and see if their is anything you can do that is safe to get your sex life more exciting. I am not sure if you drink many energy drinks or not, but sometimes as a hint to my husband I buy him a 'socko' , its an energy drink with turned on goat weed in it... and it always gets him turned on... but also you might just want to get dressed down into some lingire and tease him and that should turn him on. I think its better to turn my husband on than just have him be turned on before we have sex... anyways, i hope that helps a bit..

Yes diabetes can affect his sexual appetite. Not that he does not desire to have sex with you, but his body may be just worn and not abled. If you love him you will have forgiveness in his illness. Think about how diabetes effects a person...

Some people in the morning NEED a coffee to wake up and start the day, your boyfriend might be like that person who just can't seem to get the coffee. If he feels as though this is an issue to, he should speak to his doctor to re-evaluate his blood-sugar and see if any adjustments can be made to him. I worked with a diabetic who was shooting insulin all the time, she always seemed run-down or too tired.

The question you asked, is a question you need to talk to your boyfriend about if you love him.

I'm diabetic, female -- type 1 and i have a very high libido and sex drive. I've read that if your blood sugars/gluclose is out of control (on the high side) it can begin to impact on ur sex drive. Thankfully, I have good control. We do it sometimes up to 3x a day... I have no clue if there is a difference between sexes with regards to this, but seeing how sexual arousal is both the mind and vascogengestion (blood engorgement of the genitals), it's probably a similar process for both men and women

IF there is a diabetic clinic -- with nurses and information available, I'd reccomend you meet with a nurse there to discuss this issue... OR tell him to see his endocronologist asap.
