Hello. I'm not sure if anyone still checks this site but holy mother of god. I had two bands put on LAST MONDAY and I am still in severe pain. Like there's glass and razors up me arse. My doctor said it wouldn't hurt and to take ibuprofen and Tylenol which did absolutely nothing. I wound up in the ER tuesday morning due to pain. They gave me norco which helps but of course made me constipared. I haven't had s BM since last Monday morning. In all honestly, I didn't even eat the first four days because of the pain. I'm on a high fiber diet now and am taking stool softeners and Metamucil. Anyone else have pain this long and go without a BM this long?

others who have written in. I had two
done after having four done three years ago. The first time around
was bad but I made it through. This
has been like pure hell. I have prayed
for death between the horrible constant pain and pressure then a BM. I screamed so loud I placed a wash cloth over my mouth. It sounds
terrible but to complete the process
and withstand the pain if you get
On the floor in a yoga type ( ok doggie like) you will be able to get
Through it and minimize pain. It's been a week today for me.

I had my last one done on a Friday and the weekend was HELL for sure and went back to DR on Monday and he checked me out but was like, oh sorry, but did not do anything to help.
It will get better! Hang in there.

I am so sorry to hear this. My doctor won't do more than one banding at a time.
There is a cream a doctor rx for me that helps. You have to get it at a self mixing pharmacy. It has aloe in it and something to help those veins relax and a pain killer. If you google it it will say it's rx for anal fissures. I will find the name and send it to you but maybe if you call your dr they will go ahead and rx it for you.
Hang in there. It will get better.

I had this done yesterday, was told it wasnt painful and i would be able to drive and continue normal routine, as soon as it was done, I didnt google like i usually do, went with what the he told me.
The procedure itself although uncomfortable wasnt too bad, the pain i experienced in the evening, i can only describe as the later stages of labour, i was being sick, rolling around on the bathroom floor, tried painkillers, a hot water bottle, and sat in the shower at 1am with the hot water on my belly. Im not soft wjen it comes to pain, i gave birth to both my girls without even a sniff of gas n air, but this was hurrendous, managed to fall asleep anout 3am, through pure exhaustion, having not slept the night before, because of the prep medicine they gave me, was awake again 6am and now it 4pm and its settled but now feels like braxton hicks. Never again would i have this procedure, barbaric.
