Have read many posts on this board, but none mentioning infection after banding. I had the first band a couple of weeks ago and everything went went fine, so I went for a second. This time I experienced the pain, pressure and discomfort you all are talking about, but they never told me to do sitz baths or ice packs, just Tylenol for pain. Two days after, I had VERY severe bleeding with a BM and then a day later I developed a fever. Called the dr and he sent me to the ER. I am now on 2 different antibiotics (which I HATE as I am a natural health advocate). The drugs make me dizzy and nauseated, but the dr insists I need to take the full course of treatment with both drugs as they target different types of bacteria. I'm so upset over all this!!! I was scheduled for a third banding, but I'm cancelling the appointment!!!! Anybody else developed an infection??? How did it resolve?

WOW! I don't know what all of you had done for a banding procedure, but I had it done several years ago and most recently about one year ago. Two bands the first time and 4 bands last year. No pain during or after the procedure. No discomfort during or after. Find a doctor who uses the CRH O'Regan system and forget the butchers who don't know what they are doing.

Good GOD, I just had this done after putting it off for ten years, just had three banded this morning. Procedure itself was fine, if a little painful, but holy beans I feel terrible. Sick, faint, wobbly, weak. Apparently that's a Thing, and I have POTS to start with which I assume isn't helping! What someone upthread said about feeling like I have a brick in my arse that won't shift is about right. Like really grim, severe period pain. Except I can't put heat on it. And it's in my bum. Fffffffff. I thought I was going to just get on with my day, but NOPE, back to bed with me D: D: D:

I had 4 banded today and I have severe pain going from my anus to my testicles and down my leg to my foot. I tried sitting in a tub twice. I get a small amount of relief when I am soaking but 5 minutes after I get out I'm in severe pain again. I also tried ice. The pain is so bad I have been nauseous since I had the procedure done 6 hours ago.

This was my second banding, I have one more to go, and it is far from painless! I will never recommend this treatment, It hurts so bad I was sick to my stomach...all they gave me was some sauve to help with spasms, yea helps for a few minutes, and the pain is back, I will never again have this done.

It's best not to take nsaids as they promote bleeding. Stick with tylenol or Vicodin if prescribed. Pressure is expected after banding as well as spasms. Warmth on the lower abdomen or sitz bath should help. The key is a good surgeon and probably doing one at a time. I was able to walk a mile by the second day and swim by day 4 though there was still discomfort and pressure. Mine was done at the Cleveland clinic in Palm Beach Fla. by a surgeon who had done over a thousand procedures.

Hi I just had my done today during colonoscopy 6 large hemorrhoids banding. Woke up with a little pain but now its worce. Pain is constant. Painkillers just make pain dull. Its hurts but I can handle it. Hopefully it will go away in a few days. Planning to go to work tomorrow. Maybe everyone has a different pain tolerance.
