When I take Ibuprofen I get sleepy about 30 minutes after I take it. I now take Advil while at work. But at night I take Ibuprofen when I go to bed and it helps me rest better.

I went through a period of relying on ibuprofen for sore muscles after starting working out, and I thought there's no harm in it 'cause it's an anti-inflammatory and everything. Not only did I become very fatigued, but I also started getting heart palpitations. I am still not sure if the ibuprofen caused them but I looked it up and yes, sure enough, heart palpitations can be a side effect. I have not taken it again since then.

Thanks for posting your experience so others know they aren't crazy. I am feeling super groggy at times lately, which isn't new but usually I can associate it with something, such as alcohol or too much sugar/starch. I'm going to stop taking ibuprofen.

I'm glad I'm not crazy! I started taking ibuprofen for a tooth that was removed. I definitely felt the effects of feeling tired and sleepy.

I don't think it makes me drowsy, but I sleep VERY well when I take 400mg of plain ibuprofen before bed...not too often, but when sore after a hard day at work or strenuous workout.
