I'm currently on birth control (tri cyclen lo) for over a year now, my periods have almost always been on time. Recently (within the past 3 months) my boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex. He always makes sure to pull out in time. In past months I have Been late taking my birth control, but my peroid would still be on time. Sometimes even a few days early. Less than a week ago my boyfriend and I again had unprotected sex, but like normal he pulled out in time. But today I woke up with really bad cramps and around lunchtime I went to the bathroom and found that I had a really dark brown "blood". In my underwear. This month I was a few days behind on my birth control. Could that be the cause? Or could I be pregnant. ....my period isn't due for another week...plus I have been really stressed out with school lately, I heard that can cause it too? I'm not sure, and I'm kinda worried....

OK i am just giving a rough guess as i dont know whaty your first day of you last period was but i am guessin it was about the 29th of april???? if so then the days are you're likely to be most fertile from Monday, May 10, 2010 to Saturday, May 15, 2010. and with missing a few pills you could get pregnant if you did have sex around these day that were unprotected

The greatest chance of pregnancy is when you miss a pill at the beginning or end of the "active pills" (not the hormone-free pills), which would be the 1st week and 3rd week, assuming 4th week is hormone-free pills. This is because the hormone-free interval has been extended. Does that make sense?

and you pill i have just Googled it so i could get a clearer understanding of it

it says ... and i quoteQuote:

Some women have reported nausea, bloating and spotting between periods in the first several cycles. For most women it’s only temporary – side effects may subside within the first 3 months of use.

Quote:

In one clinical study*, fewer than 1 in 5 ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN® LO users reported these potentially embarrassing side effects (breakthrough bleeding) in their first month on the Pill. If it does happen to you in the first month, don't panic! If after the first 3 months you experience irregular bleeding that lasts more than a few days, talk to your healthcare professional.
