I started a pack of birth control the day i had unprotected sex and i had it 2 days after that too and like 6 days later i was bleeding and it lasted for a few days what does this mean?

If you have any irregular bleeding on the pill you should take a home pregnancy test just to be sure. Is it a new pill? I found that i can get some mid cycle bleeding on my newer pill. My doctor assured me that this could be normal and fine, but did instruct me to take a home test to be sure.
