Effexor Class Action Lawsuit

Hi my name is Kristina. I was prescribes Effexor as well and had the same exact experience. I don't know anything about the legal system but do know that the mess made me worse and kept me sick and only by the grace of God was I accidentally taken off this horrible drug. Basically my dr went on maternity leave and when my pharmacy went to order my refill no one refilled it. I was in the worse state of mind withdrawals like nobody's business, electrical brain zaps, a literal week long crying binge. I was so scared, I'm not joking I cry to this second thinking about how devistated I was and no one could or would help me. Thank god I wasn't working at the time because i don't know if I would have been able to get through that situation without having some serious mental consequences. Ur story makes me so upset I am so so so sorry for this lack of monitoring and responsibility that your doctor is taking for this. You need to get off of it tho. I was depressed to the bed just 1 month ago. Now, bc of this accident I was forced to go cold turkey off of this poison but my entire life has changed literally over night. You are so amazing or listening to your body telling u this stuff is junk and get it! I never ever want anyone to deal with the reprocussions of going off anything cold turkey so demand a dr that will listen to u and help you off this stuff. I have a feeling if we put the story out we can help others. But please get yourself healthy and you WILL be stronger bc of it.

There is currently no organised lawsuit in US or Canada regarding the Discontinuation Syndrome, only one for birth defects caused while taking Effexor during pregnancy. Australia is the only country that has so far successfully litigated for birth defects. Lots of talk elsewhere but no action.

You are very fortunate to have been on Effexor for a short time, even more fortunate to have survived coming off on your own! (Many people do not and we don't hear from those...) Those of us who have been on this drug for a long time (personally 10 years) face hospitalization when we try to go off. My doctor expects me to experience a full psychotic break during detox and at least a six week hospital stay. So much to look forward to! As a Canadian I am going to check out the new Unsafe Drug Act and see if I can get anywhere with it.

Have you started the law suit?. I'm also taking Effexor for many years and feel very much afraid of the side effects. I will like to do something too.

Has anyone ever had a false positive for amphedamines while on effexor

I'm not sure. But I know you have to get lawyer that will represent all of you.

I would love to be off this drug my experience trying to get off has been way past a week. After two months of hell I went back on. Everyone's experience is different

I myself can.t get of it either, if don't take 3 150mg by 10:00am I begin to feel changes. after week cold turkey nothing but sleep. awake feel like no comprehend a thing not even getting out of bed. when do i just can't function. i can't even remove one.
i was never told either. what out cymbalta. yes pharmasist told life stuck. In too 10000000 percent pissed off. getit s

i've been taking since 2008. uh i'm screwed 3 150mg before 10:00 every day. well it is a ssri i just learned. maybe it can worked with high dose of another much much older one ssri class. then maybe then wing off if old always better im learning new drugs will get you. just like cybalta. but the boys buying out the generic companies much more pricey 3 x more than brand. what did do that help me because i was heading for 1 at night. so applied how to go on and off opiates. suffer 1 day, ride out the day withdrawl. when next don't know. oh randomly.

manipulate your own mind, here and there. put one in your pocket pretent take u took it.

it worked with opiates. everbody put in ideas like. withdral is real but you trick your mind but prtent for real.

Hello my name is Kyle Stevenson. My situation is pretty much the same as yours. I have been trying to get off this drug for about 4 months and yesterday I ended up in the hospital from it. I am completely unemployable and have lost a couple jobs because of this.

There is some very powerful research showing that the reason we are bipolar/depressed/anxious is because our bodys do not break down and absorb micro-nutients properly. There are alternatives!!! Go to your local vitamin store and look for micro-nutrients that have been chelated, helps with absorbtion. Start nutrients two weeks before trying to go off Effexor, do this under doctor's care. I am beginning to get ready to start, I'm scared but more scared to continue Effexor. Just recently found out I have two holes in my retina (surgery corrected them) and discovered new study that connects Effexor use to torn/detached retinas. I HAVE TO get off this drug!!!

I dont realy know what to do, i stoped taking effexor about 9 years ago but when i was on effexor i had side effect that ruined my life. I was feelling depressed and got effexor prescribed and 37,5mg nad increasing by 37,5 up to 225. When i was at 187,5mg i started having a gambling problem and it got so bad i couldnt work anymore and got (i dont know how to say it in english) work sick and didnt work for several months and 100 thousand$ later my parents discovered i had a gambling problem by a fluke and if they didnt discovered it i would have had nothing left. I was 24 years old and nearly lost all the money i had put asside to buy a house and working my ass off, not spending to much in this regard and never had gambling problems before that. I took effexor for a little more than a year and when i stoped taking it i had no special widrawal symptoms but my gambling addiction disapered (the urges and all) I had the gambling problem only when on effexor, i was told effexor couldnt cause gambling problems but resently i read post and many people seems to have developed gambling problems when they started taking effexor. I read that theres Michael Fearon that is taking a lawsuit against them but i dont know how to contact him, if someone does can you foward my information please.

I hope we get those guys and they get what they deserve.

my effexor x/r side effects are so bad, i was imagining people in my room, I asked my mother where they went and i was totally having a hard time trying to speak or say anything , i was hallucinating rapidly, and they had to call the ambulance, it took about 2 weeks for this stuff to get out of my system , once it did I went back to somewhat normal.

I'm on board still taking it because the withdrawals are so bad then I recently had a child who suffered withdrawls after birth

I'm in. Gonna lose my job next week.
