i have a epididymal cyst in my right testicle.what is the best thing to do or treatment

Hi,

I too have been diagnosed with epdidyimal cysts in my right testicle. I am a otherwise healthy man in my early thirties. I beleive the root cause of cyst was a bicycle accident a year or so ago in which my testicle was injured.

Over the last three months the cyst has grown quite large. It is now the size of a third testicle, has branched off into multiple cysts and is pushing down my right testicle. (confirmed in ultrasound) I am experiencing no physical pain.

Last week, I saw a urologist who told me the cyst is benign and the standard procedure was to leave it as is. He said removing it risked damaged the epdidymous and risk infertility. I didn't like this answer, though my web reserch confirms it is standard practice to just leave it.

The problem is having what looks like a third testicle is emotionally bothersome to me and it has affected my sex life negatively. I don't like it and I want it gone.

What are the risks of infertility? Are there any non-surgical treatment options? Should I seek a second opinion?

I have had an epidermal cyst about size of third testical for approx. 20-30 yrs, not painful except in rare periods where orig infection/bacteria/whatever seems to be active and causing additional growth, but annoying in size. I have held off of removal due to concern for damage to fertility (tho at 60, no longer as concerning - children from marriage completed), but recent research turned up articles on percutaneous sclerotherapy, which seems worth exploring as alternative to removal, and might be consideration for others. Basically, this sounds like it involves injection of antiseptic type solution to aspirate cyst material and clean out tube. Few reports I've found, though dated a bit (2005), sound promising - with about 90% success and no complications other than 1 or 2 cases of mild fever, which was treated and resolved. If anyone has experience with this or tries it, please post results.

Hi,
I found epididymal cyst in in my right testicle. It causes discomfort and a light pain rarely or if it's pressed gently. The doctor advised to leave it as it is and to think of a surgery if the pain becomes intolerable or in case of infertility. Do I have to undergo surgery as it causes discomfort, especially during my Gym workout.

i have had one for years now and it freakin hurts. Dr's have told me the same thing about surgery and how it can cause you to be infertile! They say there is nothing can do. I am only 28 and I have to live this. Its very uncomfortable sitting and standing. Sleeping at night dosent get any better.

I have had testicular pain for quite a few years on and off, I am 30... pain to the point where i cannot move, ( I do have a fairly decent pain tolerence) ive been going to multiple doctors for this and have been told several different things... today made the most sense, and unfortunatley the most pain in awhile though i can still get around, Doc told me have cysts and to wait a month or two and consider surgery to remove them, said its a very simple out-patient surgery, miss 1 week work and 2 weeks light duty... if surgery will get rid of this pain for awhile/forever... im game... i know cysts can come back, but im willing to take the risk, he did mention a possible lower sperm count, but for me it does not matter as i had a vasectomey about 6-7 years ago...

This pain you feel, did it grow over time? I have a cyst about the size of a marble in my right testicle, and had it diagnosed about 5 years ago. I don't know if the pain is psychological, or if it is getting worse over time. I'm worried that if in just five short years, it feels like I've been kicked in the groin constantly, that in another five, it could be even worse! Is this a possibility?
