As newlyweds, my wife and I are obviously not ready for our own child yet. My wife has been on the pill for four years, and finished her last set of pills around a week ago. Her doctor recommended that she stop taking the pills for a while, so that she can adjust to some other medication he has given her.
We had sex twelve days after her last "real" pill and six days after she finished her entire birth control pack. We completely forgot that she was no longer on the pill, as we have been used to having peace of mind for four years. I did not ejaculate inside of her, as we realized what we were doing halfway through and quickly took the steps to correct it. She has not been through a complete natural cycle off of the pill. Her predicted ovulation date was the day after we had sex.
Are we at a high risk? Plan B is still an option for 24 more hours, but I want to make sure that it will help, considering that the day after we had sex should have been one of her "on-the-pill" ovulation days. Thank you for your time and help. I'd like to get some advice or tips. Thank you!
