Hello,
I am a high school cross country coach and a couple of my runners have been experiencing exercise induced amenorrhea: lack of a menstrual cycle caused by a combination of heavy exercise and lack of fueling. I have scoured the internet for information on this and a lot of it is mixed. I was wondering if anyone hear knew of a person who would be considerded an expert in this field, particularly as it relates to running. I know this is a long shot, but a lot of the information I and they have gotten from doctors has been inadequate. They either say it's not a big deal don't worry about it, or they recommend stopping all running for the next year until recovery occurs. Appreciate any info anyone has on this.
