Good day! Whenever I do some exercise (running, cardio, lifting weights, etc), I have pain in my ribs when I am breathing. I don't know why this happens. I am sure that I never did anything to hurt my ribs, so this is impossible. Now, I need to find another thing why I am in pain. I was wondering anyone in here have the similar problem like I do? How do you deal with it? I am going to visit my doctor, for sure. I don't know is it because I have some breathing issues or maybe heart issues. I am not sure anymore...

Good day. It happens very often, that you feel that pain under rib when breathing or exercising. I think actually anyone who started to run felt this pain occasionally. Here is what you should do in order to prevent it. You should be hydrated all the time, so to stay properly hydrated, drink water throughout the day of your run. Also, you should drink 1 to 3 cups of water just beforehand. I think that this helps. It helped me a lot and I never had this problem before. But, I don't know are you diagnosed with some diseases, bronchitis or so?

Hello.
It happened to me when I started to doing some exercises since I was sure that I can do it, that I can lift heavy without having any type of aftermath. What a beginner mistake. This is how I hurt myself and this is how I had trouble while I was breathing, nothing new to me. So, that is why I have a justified suspicion that this has happened to you as well. Maybe you are dealing with a contusion of the ribs for some reason, and that is why you have a trouble while you are breathing. Good luck!

The same thing started to happen to me when I started to run. It was really funny when my hubby told me that I don't know how to breathe properly when I am running or doing some exercises. So, that is my advice to you as well, you really should try changing your breathing pattern when a stitch develops. How are you going to do that? Well, you will exhale when the leg on the opposite side from the stitch strikes the ground, but you have to "turn" your brain totally to be focused on this one. Also, practice belly breathing.

I know what you are going through, because I had the same problem while I was running. My shoulder was in pain, and then I realized that this all comes from the pain under my ribs. So, I did the huge research and I realized that this pain under the rib can actually be the lack of oxygen that can occur with strenuous exercises like running but it can happen during some other exercises. When you are running, you substantially increase the energy required by your muscles to keep up your pace. This energy causes both of your lungs and heart to work harder, and when your lungs cannot keep up with the needs of the body, some muscles may not get the oxygen they need and this is why this pain occurs. It is really, really unpleasant.

So, the same thing happens to me when I started with this all healthy life changes. I was running, but I didn't want to run for 500 or 700 meters or even 2 kilometers - no I wanted to run up to 10 kilometers in the first month of my running days. So, I also felt this pain. The main problem is because we are not prepared for aerobic exercises, and running is an intense aerobic exercise. We all want everything at the same moment, and we don't know our limits. We push it hard. That is why this pain occurs, that is why we have it. This pain under the ribs is very common to all of the people who are not into exercising but they want to become fitness maniacs over the night. What a mistake.

I agree with you. No one is born ready. What does this mean? It means that you cannot over the night become something that you are not. Even professional runners are preparing in the phases for running, which is normal. Running 10 kilometers for the first time is a huge mistake. You won't accomplish anything, you can only overtax your body and be in pain. I mean, we all do that, we all do the same mistakes, but that is a wrong way of thinking and working. All come with the patience, so this physical activity does. Good luck there!
