You’re right, I definitely should start writing everything out. I get my bloodwork results for my hormones on Tuesday and then I can start Metformin, so hopefully I can become balanced soon. This whole journey has felt never ending

HI There, i also had hormones tested and they were all "in range" except progesterone HOWEVER, having said that, just because your levels are within the correct range, it doesnt mean they are in the correct range FOR YOUR BODY.... we all went through the same issues in varying degrees after stopping birth control so its def hormone related. you dont just wake up one morning messed up for no reason with the only "change" being that you stopped BC.

From all the research i did, i figured out a few things, neurotransmitters are affected in a major way. Your adrenal glands, hypothalamus and pituitary gland all "freak out" once the synthetic hormones are stopped because the body realizes that its no longer getting what it needs, and has to start producing it on its own again... so your body basically goes into crisis mode.
BC creates an inflammatory response in your body, as a result important nutrients and vitamins are depleted throwing off your neurotransmitters because they no longer getting enough supply of the vital nutrients and vitamins.

I read a great book about vitamins and minerals and how your body reacts when it doesnt get what it needs. just to give you an idea, B12 depletion causes OCD, the braing gets stuck in a loop for some reason....

None of you ladies are going crazy, it IS all hormone related.

I've been off this month officially a year and the last 6 months have been great, i feel my normal self again. The experience does change you though.

The first supplement i would say had the most impact was B1, B2, B5, B6 and B12 mix, although b-complex should work just as well. perhaps double your does initially for about a month - 6 weeks (you will pee a very bright yellow, dont let that scare you, its normal. the other thing that helped tons with brain fog is probiotic.... it helps eliminate the excess estrogen which causes the brain fog. The live metabolizes hormones and the excess is excreted through the intestines, so if the gut is not functioning properly it has a huge impact our brains.

The other supplements i take are omega 3 to fight inflammation, vit c to ensure my immune system is strong and at helps the adrenals function better, magnesium to help the nervous system

I did take a supplement called cortisol balance by medford for the initial panic and anxiety which was so intense i couldnt function properly. it contains ashwagandha which calms the nervous system.

No coffee no sugar for at least 3 months... coffee i still limit to 1 cup a say or 1 cup every other day.

No processed food, fresh veggies (cooked or raw) and fruit and meat.

Thank you!! I swear sometimes I feel like i'm going crazy because no doctor will acknowledge when I say it's my hormones. It took me almost a year just to get this blood work done and she left out progesterone. Next month i'm going to do a full panel.

Yes, I have malabsorption and have to get IVs with vitamins at least once a month. I think having vitamin deficiencies makes this process even harder because if I don't make sure I get them regularly, symptoms ger worse and worse. They're just really expensive and I wish I could just pop some cheap vitamins in pill form and call it a day

It's tough for me because I have a lot of other health problems. I have dysautonomia, malabsorption, and I am also in antidepressant withdrawal, so I think that at certain times of the month when my hormones fluctuate it makes me feel like i'm going nuts because my nervous system is so sensitive atm. But yeah, my endo doc totally neglected to test my progesterone and I was not happy because that's the hormone that is most often low for women.

Hi ladies, so I just got my period AGAIN (had it twice in July, and this is the second time this month). It literally just ended like last week. I have PCOS so I’m sure this explains it, and I’m sure the irregular periods is why I’ve been so anxious with irrational thoughts again. Praying I’ll feel better soon once this period is over

Hey guys! Hope everyone is feeling better today. I just had my first appointment with a naturopath today. I’m going next week for a comprehensive blood panel to test my hormones, my thyroid and any potential vitamin deficiencies. To help with my anxiety she gave me a 5HTP supplement to take at night and GABA to take in the morning with breakfast, and she also recommended a therapist for me to talk to. Hoping this will all be able to help me! I’ll keep you all posted.

That is definitely not an easy combo to be dealing with , especially that withdrawal. Well done honey for your courage and your persistence in all this. You are going to get through this, even if it takes some time ....

HI ladies, so ive been following this lady Magdalena Wszelaki on Hormone balance.... she has a session coming up today 22 Aug about why blood testing hormones doesn't really help and what tests to actually ask for to check your hormones. Perhaps this will shed some light .... Have a blessed day ahead and remember today, you got this, one day closer to full recovery. its not a matter of IF you get better but rather WHEN.... :-)

Hey guys, hope you’re all feeling okay. I’ve been dealing with a rollercoaster of emotions these past two months, and it’s really hard to remember the times that I’ve felt perfectly fine. Lately I’ve been overthinking a lot about my mind and thinking that I’m never going to recover. I just keep obsessing over the anxiety and making myself worry even more. I want these symptoms to be gone so bad, I almost feel as if I forgot who I was before all this :( next month I’ll be officially 1.5 years off, I just hope I can get better as soon as possible

I’m sorry you’re still struggling! I’m two years off and am finally having a good week after a couple bad months! I went to see a naturopath and she gave me 5HTP to take at bedtime, which I think has helped. She said it can take 4-6 months to take full effect but I’ve already noticed a difference. I definitely understand the feeling of over analyzing your thoughts and anxiety. And the feeling of forgetting who you used to be. I think we’re all going to heal eventually, for some it just might take a little longer! Just don’t give up and remind yourself that the good times do exist!

That’s awesome, I’m glad it started helping you already! Thanks for the reminders, I swear I feel like the anxiety/mood swings almost feel so permanent throughout the day and then I feel much better at night. I have to learn to stop researching everything and making myself panic, I’m sure googling all my symptoms and trying to reassure myself constantly just adds fuel to the fire. I’m more than ready for the day I can come back on here and post a 100% recovery story lol

I feel like the longer i'm off the pill, the worse my symptoms get. I have the most debilitating OCD & I read that can be from too much estrogen. I also have depression that keeps getting worse. Everyone says it gets better at 3-6 months but I feel like i'm going backwards.

I’ve been feeling the same way, I felt great some months ago but now I’m having a bad setback with different themes of the OCD. I think it’s pretty common to feel worse at some points, just remember “relapses don’t erase progress, progress is not linear”
