Hey! Don’t worry you’re not alone. I’m almost 2 years off and I’ve improved a lot, but I do remember around the 7th-9th month having really bad anxiety and I would always wake up feeling like my body was shaking on the inside and my fingers would twitch.

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I’ve been feeling quite anxious lately (my period just ended about a week ago and I’ve been noticing this hormonal pattern again). When I’m not home and keeping my mind off of things I feel great but when I’m alone and not doing much I get so caught up in my thoughts. I’ve been having mostly “anxiety about the anxiety” again, and I have these moments where I just think wow I can’t believe this actually happened to me lol if that makes sense. It’s been almost 2 years of being off the pill so it really makes me worry that I’m going to be like this forever :( I guess I’m sort of traumatized, because I always overthink about the thoughts I used to have and they still scare me and I question myself even though I know I’m not like that at all. Anyways I’m hoping this passes soon and I hope you’re all feeling okay!

Hey sweety, hormones are never constant.... they fluctuate so some month are going to feel off. The anxiety could be related to estrogen levels being too high. Look up "estrogen dominance" perhaps the symptoms might be soemthing you can identify with. Estrogen dominance can be corrected through changing eating habits , getting active (walking, cycling, jogging, etc) and supporting your body with a good vitamin for women. Im taking a really nice one at present from GNC, called Women's Ultra Mega.
Google which form of magnesium will be best for helping with anxiety and also try some milk thistle / pro-biotic to help detox the excess estrogen from your liver. none of this is instant , it take a few weeks but try keep a diary to find the pattern.... there's always a pattern.

Thank you!! Yeah I’m not really as active as I should be so I wanna try to change that and eat as healthy as I can. Thanks for the supplement recommendations I definitely want to check those out. I just get so scared because on my bad days I feel like I’m back to square one and it’s been almost 2 whole years of this

omg the rest of my comment didnt post!! But to continue, I’ve had more good days than bad days this past year. Its just hard to remember the good when I feel horrible. I always overthink about this whole situation on my down days, I need to remind myself that I have days where I dont even remember that this happened. Maybe ill fully recover someday, hopefully lol. How are you doing though? Have you completely recovered

Do you have PCOS by any chance, or is your period regular?
Yeah i'm recovered.... took about 6 - 7 months. Yeah not doing birth control again in my life! never expected that reaction and it was the word ever. I have days where i look back and think how absurd the whole thing was and that i dont want to experience that again but it also taught me to dig deep and fight and not quit. so good on you and all the ladies that haven't given up. Keep going

Yep I have PCOS and I began taking Metformin for it this summer. (I know there are more natural options but Metformin has helped me a TON, I ovulate and get my period every month now). The reason I went on the pill in 2017 when I was 18 was because I wasnt having regular periods and a doctor who didnt even test my blood for PCOS prescribed the pill. So who knows if I actually even actually had it at the time, it couldve just been because I was still in my teenage years. Coming off of the pill was what really triggered all the symptoms to come out, especially facial hair but luckily its not very noticeable. To think only 6 months of the pill did all this damage, ugh!!! But I’m really glad that you recovered it must feel so great

Yeah the pill is not a solution to anything especially hormone balancing. Its the last thing they should prescribe for hormone balancing.
Look up a lady Dr Jolene Brighten on google, you will find a lot of interesting info.

Yes it’s horrible, I wish I could turn back time and never take that stupid pill. But this has really been a life lesson for me and I’m sure for all of us. Dr. Jolene’s posts about the pill have helped me a lot! Definitely going to follow her info more often

This is where I am today. Due to high liver enzymes my doctor took me off bcps Nov 2019 after being on them for 3 years with a 1yr break before that and 10yrs on it. In the beginning of February 2020 I noticed a massive mood change in my psyche and spirit. Sadness and helplessness as if I had postpartum depression. Not interested in eating, social media, going out and just living life like I am used to. I have. 3yr old son. Thank God for my husband, I'm able to get things done around the house, but even the hoy of cooking has left my heart. I know this should and will get better. Not being on any anti anxiety meds, or drinking and Marijuana doesn't help with the coping. I am looking forward to reading your blog for more help on how to tackle this awful feeling of never ending sadness. Thank you

Pretty much the same stuff we all went through or are still going through. Basically its time is the first thing and second you need to recharge your body with all the stuff its lost to the pill. The pills affects absorption of vitamins and minerals that are vital to our hormones (not just the sex hormones but the entire endocrine system) .Vitamin B6 and Zinc are the first to be recommended for ladies on the pill or coming off the pill. Im on a brand called GNC Womans Ultra Mega... its ha higher dosages than the normal daily requirements which is what our body needs. A good probiotic, a good magnesium supplement and whole foods instead of processed food, and also getting exercise like walking or swimming.... plenty of rest. and continue doing the things you've been doing that you know you used to love.... and be gentle with yourself at this point. It will get better in fact you will be you again... but its going to take time

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. I’m 2.5 years post pill and for the past few months I’ve been feeling exactly like my old self, which has been AMAZING. I’ve put so much effort into regaining my life and I can’t believe I’ve finally made it to this point. However, I’m not having some issues with my period. While they’ve been perfectly regular and very painful for the past 3 years, my last two cycles have been completely pain free. Which I thought was strange but honestly didn’t want to question because I was just so happy to not have terrible cramps for once. However, I just ended my period last Saturday, and now, one week later, I’ve started it again. I can’t remember the last time this happened to me, if it ever has tbh. I’m worried that my hormones are out of whack again and I’ll either spiral or be pushed to get back on birth control, which will never EVER happen jus to be clear. Do you ladies have any insight? I feel fine mentally at the moment I’m just concerned that I’ve now had two periods in the past two weeks and that’s so unusual for me something has to be going on.

Hey there, i'm still struggling with the physical imbalances of hormones as well. Mentally and emotionally i've been good for almost a year now :-) but the physical imbalances are still obvious. My cycles have up until 3 months ago been rather erratic, too early or later than expected. The last 3 months they have been 28 days which is great, was never that regular. The bleeding still still heavy though, cramps are pretty intense except the last 2 cycles.... they did find fibriods though which is a clasic symptom of too much estrogen (estrogen dominance) about 3 cycles ago i started bleeding lightly for 5 days on and off before my period actually started so yeah.... i would say something is up physically. dont worry about going back to the mental stuff though like when you first stopped the pill.... that was a crisis point ..... sometimes our cycles do weird things so maybe go see a dr or wait it out one more cycle and see how it goes... it could be just one of those random things.... but if its worrying you, go see your Dr.
