I really need to get my adrenals tested. I hadn't taken my ashgwanda(regulates cortisol levels) for 2 days. I came into work and had a stressful moment that should've passed but it stayed. I got light headed, started to get flustered, and then the body tension started building. I think my cortisol levels were really high this morning because 5-10 min after I took that ashgwanda pill I began to relax and my tension eased. All this we're going through could very well be a mixture of hormones and adrenal fatigue : (
I feel crazy for even entertaining all this, but the body doesn't lie and ours are definitely trying to tell us something. My hormones tested what the docs considered normal. Its not that I want them to be off, they could've just did more tests on the right days being that hormones do fluctuate. I also got them tested after 3 months of being off the pill so if there was more of an imbalance it would've been within those 3 months when I felt my worst.
Have you got your hormones tested? I let go of my old doc who was of no help, I did select a new doc but I'm still really turned off by making an appointment and possibly getting the same treatment. It would save me a hero of money to get my adrenals tested through them rather than seeking out a naturopath. How are you feeling today?

I'm doing okay. Still waiting on results. Still feelings really spacey and tired/sensitive to light lately. I'm hoping I'm about to ovulate again and that my body doesn't skip it. Phew this is exhausting!!

Anxiety is WORSE when you don't sleep well. If you are still in the beginning stages of all this I would suggest taking Melatonin chewable sleep vitamins before you go to bed. If you don't want to take nightly keep some handy for when you get those random night anxiety attacks. They help so much, and you don't wake up super groggy.
There's no such thing as going with and not fighting a panic or anxiety attack.. I wish there was, but naturally we will worry and be scared or upset. My anxiety has gotten a lot lighter but when I feel it coming I do some yoga.. you can download an app on your phone for free. I have taken Xanax or Valium for major panic/anxiety attacks, but its not a daily cure.
If you are not currently taking supplements and watching what you eat you should. BC depletes our nutrients. Good starters would be Magnesium at night, B-complex, organic multi vitamin, probiotic.
Look into adrenal fatigue. I think a lot of us are going through adrenal fatigue being that BC killed our natural hormones. Our adrenals won't function properly with out enough hormones, if our bodies are having a hard time making our own hormones our adrenals won't function properly and that throws a bunch of other stuff off too.
Sorry for the long response I just want you to feel better. Hang in there!!

Were your periods normal from the beginning? I finally ovulated last month and had a normal period, but now I'm over a week past ovulation time and I know I haven't. (I get lots of "evidence" sorry tmi). Did yours start out far apart and gradually get closer?? I was so hoping that after one normal period my body would snap back into action.

Try looking up natural ways to boost your seratonin levels. Exercise would be one, but if you are anything like me these days, too much exercise can make your anxiety worse so maybe just light exercising to boost your mood. I've heard of people taking 5-HTP for anxiety and depression, its something that you can order online. Honestly the best thing that has helped me was cleaning up my diet and staying away from all foods that trigger stress.. sugar/caffine/ alcohol/ gluten/dairy.
I'm 6 months off of the pill now and am feeling better and better every month, but it's still a long process. If you are going to go to the doctor be prepared for them to not believe this was caused by birth control and then try to stick you on anti-depressents. If they are able to prescribe you a relaxant for when you have major panic or anxiety that would help you a bunch.
The only reason you are depressed is because your hormones are out of wack which is also causing an imbalance with your seratonin levels. Its also very hard to be optomistic and not worry when you are experiencing all these physical symptoms.
I feel so bad that you are going through this, no one understands until they experience for themselves. Hang in there.

I was on depo off and on for 10 years. Loved how it made my hair on my head grow. Loved how I didn't have to deal with having periods... ever! But on my last appointment for some reason I wanted to skip it and see how my body responded. Ugh... not good. I didn't think this would happen. I stopped before for a year and was fine. Perhaps it's because I'm 35 now? I'm experiencing anxiety like no other. I cry for dumb reasons... I'm more quiet, And just an emotional mess. I hate this. I was tempted to get back on it so this would all go away but my gyno said that I need to have my bones checked because of my timeline on depo. Look, call me what you want... I hate blood and this whole chapter on enjoying my womanhood. It sucks! Why couldn't this be more simple? I wouldn't have never taken depo if it was simple. But now I feel like its heroine because when I'm not on it I feel like c**p. I want it to go away. Please!
