Hi Lewis,

It's actually NORMAL for guys under about 16 to not be able to pull back their foreskin.  Just normal erections, and masturbation, usually help it stretch enough to slide.  Keep stretching.  It will take some time but depending upon how often you stretch you'll be able to pull it back.  It won't happen overnight, or even in 3 days.  It may take a couple of months.

I don't suggest using a steroid unless prescribed.  If there was a problem, there isn't you're normal, then OK.  Steroids are hormones and you don't need them near your testicles.  You also want to make sure you have the correct dosage, yes, there are different strengths.  Long term use of steroids on the skin can make blood vessels prominent - stick out.  You probably DON'T want that on your penis.  You can also get fungal or bacterial infections and it can damage your skin (think ugly scars.)

Just clean the smegma as best you can.  That's all anyone can do.

Hope it helps.

Hi Custi,

See your urologist.  They can advise you as to what is the best medicine to help.  At 44 you respond differently than someone in there teens.

Don't be embarrassed.  See a urologist ASAP.

Hi Lewisjay1:

It is easy to take care of the washing out of a tight foreskin.

It is really easy to painlessly clean out your foreskin without retracting it. Here are two ways:

1. Urine is a sterile substance when it leaves the body so it is an excellent washing agent. Pinch the tip of your foreskin shut when you pee. Let the urine fill up your foreskin. You will see your foreskin balloon because of the urine inside. Then release the tip and all of the urine inside your foreskin will come gushing out and clean out whatever is inside. This is best done in the shower as it tends to be messy.

or

2. Get a rubber bulb ear syringe from a drug store, pharmacy, or chemist’s shop. These are designed to squirt warm water into ear canals to clean them out. They also work great for cleaning out foreskins. Fill the ear syringe with warm (not hot) water and then insert the tip of the syringe into your foreskin. Then squeeze the bulb and a jet of warm water will squirt into your foreskin and clean out whatever is inside.

It is not absolutely necessary to have a foreskin that will retract. A few men live their entire lives with a non-retractable foreskin. They can masturbate, have penetrative sex, get married, and father children with a foreskin that does not retract. Some believe that a penis with a tight foreskin is more sensitive and that sex is better. However, most men prefer to make their foreskin retractable.

Almost all boys are born with a foreskin that does not retract. This is normal. It takes years for the ability to retract to develop. About ½ of boys have a retractable foreskin by 10.4 years of age. Many adolescents still have foreskins that have tips that are too narrow to pass back over the penis head. These foreskins may be gently stretched over a period of time to cause them to widen.

It is normal for teens to have a foreskin that does not retract. One’s foreskin is still developing. One can help it develop by stretching it.

When your penis is erect, gently pull your foreskin back against the head of the penis. As the head attempts to pass through the foreskin it will stretch the skin a little. Do this every day and in a few weeks or months your foreskin will widen and you will be able to retract your foreskin. Do NOT force retraction.

It works by tissue expansion. Stretching skin induces “mitosis” which is a word that means “division of cells”. New skin cells are formed and the skin expands but it takes some time. The increase in size is permanent. Be patient and give mitosis time to work.

The important thing is to put the skin under tension every day so that it will grow wider.

Medic Dan.  It is not common for Boys of 14/15/15 etc to not be able to pull their Foreskins back. Most can easily do it by the time their 10 Years old. I don't know where you get your info, but your WRONG! As for the Lad *Lewis* I think He's fake, as I just saw another post, by a supposed 14 Years old Lad, with the same supposed problem, who worded everything pretty much the same as the supposed Lewis! I think He's a Perv or something, and getting off on asking these questions!
