Years ago when i was first put on the pill i was adviced to wait a month.

Is this your first pack of birth control pills? Pharmacists, and doctors, advise to use a back-up method the first 7 days of starting birth control pills, unless you have been taking them consistently.

When i answered teen hot lines for Planned Parenthood, which wasn't to long ago, i was told to tell the kids to use back up protection for a month after starting the pill. I don't know anymore. Now i see that you are protected after being on the pill for only seven days. I would ask the Doctor or call the Pharmacist where you picked up your pack.

I'm taking penicillin at the moment, and I've been told it will make my contraceptive pill stop working. How long will it be after I've stopped taking them until I'm protected again?
