I upon awakening will see what looks like writing floating in front of the blank wall. Sometimes it looks like a list, sometimes like an handwritten invoice, always just slightly out of focus. I wear glasses, so these always resemble me seeing a page without my glasses on. Often will linger after 3-4 blinks. I've had them for a few years now, I am tempted to put my glasses on to read what's floating.

My first Hypnopompic Hallucination happened to me last Tuesday night and again this morning. It was simply terrifying. I "woke up" from an odd but pointless dream (not a nightmare) to two men standing in my bedroom, one had a backpack on and I could hear them talking but couldn't make out what they were saying. I blinked several times but they didn't go away. When they were not going away, my heart started racing and I was thinking to myself "they can't really be real, can they? What if they are? What do they want? I need a weapon...". I was kept listening to the mumbling but it sounded more like music now, angry music. I woke up my husband who casually went to check it out. As he walked toward the doorway, the two men vanished but the music did not. I kept asking him if he heard the music but he didn't. I tried to fall back to sleep but I could continue to hear the music, which at times sounded like screaming, for what seemed like 30 minutes. I couldn't fall back asleep until daylight because I was so scared. I thought it was a paranormal experience or demonic in some fashion. My husband assured me it had something to do with my dream and my brain not transitioning into being awake (he is pretty logical). This morning I "woke up" from another pointless dream. I was startled awake to the toilet flushing and my husband talking to me. I couldn't make out what he was saying and as he "left the room", I realized this was another hallucination. He had left hours before I woke up and the toilet was not flushed. I Googled what had happened and found Hypnopompic Hallucinations. I am stressed at work but nothing crazy. I'm not on any drugs or sleep aids. I am 30 and healthy, although I do suffer from migraines, they are pretty much under control. I do remember sleep walking once as a child and sleep talking to my sister on occasion. I'm not paralyzed at all when these have occurred. I read that the presence of someone in your room is common and I'm thankful I'm not seeing demons or spiders as many others do but I wonder why it is happening all of a sudden.
