Yep. That would rock. Except they get to make up work!
I think that responsible kids should be rewarded with fub days every now and then. I hate that the bad element ruins it for all the good kids.
I know Colin works hard and busts his butt doing his work. I would hate for him to be unexcused and miss a test and not be able to make it up. I also do not like to lie. Especially to authority figures in my son's life.

I tell the truth. I had to take the kids out of school for two days at the end of May so I could drive up to Indiana and do my school thing. Sent a note, told them I had a college thing to attend, and kids brought homework with. Don't know if it was excused or not, but it's just a day or two. I don't think it could make or break a grade. I could be wrong though.

Doing it again next May. Have no choice. Don't have a husband who can take off a couple days of work to watch his kids, so this is what we do.

I don't think it would be a problem. If it is burn down the school.

(In your state, teachers get paid??)
Since you know in advance, ask his teachers if he can do his work and turn it in early. That's what happens at our school in cases like these. I'd definitely go through the teachers as we have a bit more discretion. If we just see an unexcused absence then we assume skipping.

The non-urban teachers are paid a helluva lot of money, and are always crying for more.

I want to ask about being paramedic. If we want to be a paramedic, what course should we take?
