I was told by a Dr that an IUD is to be put in DURRING menstration.
Also, 14 days isnt the soonest.
She could actually test 6-14 days given that she is familiar with her cycles.

IUD'S are also used as emergency contraception up to 7 days after sex.
6 days after sex would generally be too soon, because it takes awhile for implantation to occur.

I noticed different sources give a different time table for the use of an iud as emergency contraception tho...
It sounded like you were saying that implantation should happen first, but the point of e.c. is to prevent that from ever occuring.
Alot of Dr's will offer this only up till the 7th day after sex, most 5 days or sooner.
Either way, it was intersting!!
