Yes it could be because of the tampon, or many other reasons. The most typical reason for bleeding during sex is that the guy is breaking your hymen (a piece of skin covering the vagina) when he pushes inside you. If that is already broken for some reason, than you are less likely to bleed. Consider yourself lucky.
