Ok, so this is kind of embarrassing for me but I need some answers. In 2006 I got with my boyfriend. He was in a bike accident and broke his pelvis in about 2004-05 and has been on percocet since then. When I first got with him and had gone through the whole partying stage so I was over all that.
Here and there he would give me a percocet and I enjoyed it. After a while I just started taking them for fun thinking to myself, "I won't get addicted to them. I don't have an addictive personality.
I have been stealing them from him for about a year now and he finally just caught on. I was very careful about taking them when he wasn't around.
I have been through withdrawal countless of times and am really just sick of it. I have now weened myself off of them ( I figured out you had to do that after about the 4th time of withdrawal symptoms) but now I can't sleep.
I have not had a percocet for 2 days now and have very very mild withdrawal symptoms but can't sleep.
So my question is... When does the not sleeping thing stop ocurring?? I have tryed everything from NyQuil to Benadryl and sometimes find myself wanting to drink just to sleep, but always end up not drinking because I hate alcohol....
So does anyone have any suggestions of what I can take to sleep or how long the not sleeping will occur??
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

I don't think chronic insomia is a mild withdrawal symptom. It can be quite serious as lack of sleep can impact your health and personal safety. You can try a warm bath or a foot rub before going to bed. Sexual activity leading to orgasm may help readjust your brain chemistry allowing you to fall asleep. Exchanging sensual massages with your boyfriend may also help.

I have been on Endocet since 2009 after going through breast cancer surgery. Chemo and radiology. I now feel like I don't need them anymore and want to stop taking them. I have tried several times however without them I cannot sleep. The longest I have been up is three nigts and three days. I have all this anxiety and jitterness and can't be still. I am one miserable person. I have talked to my oncologist about this and he says I will not become addicted taking them as perscribed. I have never abused them. Please, does anyone know what I can do? I stay so worried because lack of sleep and the eating I do all during the night (weight gain) is just fuel for getting cancer again.
