I'm on this quest myself, but have found 4 possible answers and I encourage you all to look into these, depending on your particular symptoms. The possible conditions are: desquamative vaginitis, cytolytic vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and vaginal dermatitis. Apparently, they can all be caused by iron deficiency, so you might want to look into that first. Especially since that can be the most insidious. Be aware that there FOUR labs for a full picture of your iron levels, don't rely just on ferritin (which is what most doctors do), although that might be the most relevant. Thyroid issues are closely linked to iron issues, fyi. For those of us that prefer natural alternatives: Unsulfured blackstrap molasses would be a simple natural option (probably diluted in hot water as a tea) for low doses, or Megafoods Blood builder natural whole-food iron supplements for a full day dose. While you're getting to the root of it, if you have pain during or right after intercourse, vh prebiotic suppositories would help with that. Good luck to everyone! May the force be with our Vivis!
