For six months now I’ve been having large amounts of discharge. I don’t know if it just started or I’m just looking down there more often. Even before I got on birth control (a year ago) I noticed a big string of discharge when I wiped after using the bathroom. It looks like white snot in a big glob. If it’s in my underwear it turns yellow and flakes off when completely dried out. If it stays there it gets in the creases and dries enough to irritate the skin so when I clean it off I get a tear in the skin. I noticed that it increases a week before my period. It doesn’t itch, or smell bad (but it does smell like a bagel), or turn weird colors, and it doesn’t look like cottage cheese when coming out. It just looks like left over toilet paper when it starts to dry out. When I get ‘sexually excited’ it produces more and then completely disappears.

I just visited the gynecologist two weeks ago and the tests came back negative and she said nothing was wrong but my mother says it sounds like a yeast infection. I have taken the cream medication three times before and nothing helped. I am sexually active but have not had sex for three months now. Both he and I have been tested and we’re clean. I'm on the pill and he uses condoms and the pull out method.

It’s a bit embarrassing to always have this coming out and changing underwear all the time. Is this just my normal discharge or is it a yeast infection? Or something worse?

I hope I gave enough information! Please help!

I have been having the same problem for years and I am only twenty years old. It got worse after I became sexually active and stopped for a while after my boyfriend left me. I was still sexually active though. Yeast infection creams have helped me some, but it returns within the next two to three months. I also get those cuts your talking about which hurt but i usually just put neosporin on it and it helps heal them faster. This discharge also makes sex painful to a degree and i don't stay as "wet" during sex as i used to. I have gone to the doctor many times and asked her about this and it was I always had nothing until the last time. The last time I went I had an abnormal pap smear and had to get biopsied. I found out I had HPV. A relative of mine also has HPV and she complains of the same problems. I'm not saying you have HPV but this same problem occurred more frequently right before I went to the ob/gyn last. Hope this helps a little.

To the first poster, if it was a yeast infection the doctor would have caught it. It actually sounds normal in a way but remember that stress and diet, as well as everything else in your life, can affect your female situation.

Regarding the last post, Jesus Christ. HPV, also known as Genital Warts, yeah WARTS in your VAGINA, spread like wildfire. Luckily it clears up after a while, as do warts anyplace else on your body, but do you people not care about your life or your health? It's a sexually transmitted disease. If he's got HPV, who knows what else we might have or pick up and pass on to you later. I don't care who you're screwing, if you're going to have sex like an adult, act like an adult ask seriously ask him if he's clean. If he's willing to have sex with you without a condom, virgin or not, he values feeling over his life or health and that kind of guy sounds like an id**t to me. Personally, I've only had two long-term sexual partners in the 7 years that I've been "sexually active" and nobody's penis is allowed near my mouth or vagina without a latex barrier because I honestly don't know what they've done/do when I'm not around. I care too much about my health and about my life.

If you women are going to continue your openness to disease, at least get the HPV vaccination. At least there's a method of prevention right there for careless women. But also bare in mind that even if he pulls out, there's probably a bit of pre-cum in there. If you're not ready for at least a very minimal chance of pregnancy, then wrap it up.

Think.

To the person before me, you should get your facts straight before you respond. There are more than 100 types of HPV and not all of them cause warts. Many of them have no symptoms at all.

I just read on another website that "snot like" clear discharge is normal and means you are ovulating. It helps the sperm enter your body. I just read about it because it is happening to me too (I'm married and only have sex with my husband) and so I decided to research. It is about the right time to be ovulating and doesn't pose any threats. Just kinda weird/gross. So ... now I know that I can probably get pregnant right now! Which is kind of cool.. but we aren't ready yet. Hope this helped!

And about the "paper cuts"... you may want to be tested for Herpes Type 2 (genital herpes). These cuts will appear and disappear by themselves, itch, and reoccur more most often diruing times of arrousal and menstration.

Is get the same thing when I have a nasty yeast infection.. The paper cut like tears and redness and itching.. I have to use the 3 day monistat, sometimes the 1 day stuff will actually have less of the acting medication in it. Even after i finish the medicine , it takes time to go away. Washing with a cold washcloth and rubbing away the dead skin helps with the itching. make sure to wear loose underwear.. that helps too. :-)

HAHA another judgmental person hiding behind anonymity to criticize others :/ **** she never said she dint use protection and you don't even know her or her partner! who are you to say what he might or might not have? and you are so childish talking to these people like children when its you who is acting like one pointing finger and elbows, BTW YOU sound like an id**t to me! running your mouth just to do it. dose it make you feel any better about your totally nonexistent sex life? you know.. belittling others because yours is insufficient? we don't care about YOU and YOUR sex life and that wasn't the topic NO ONE CARES. so how about you THINK before you get on her rambling about a topic you have NO IDEA ABOUT. you obviously dint read any of the previous comments because you are wayyy too off topic. so go preach to some 12 year old nuns who will listen to your stupid opinions and stop wasting your time looking like an id**t and please do the internet world a favor and stop posting. HPV can be spread by simply shaking hada with someone who has it. Condoms won't protect against it because it is usually outside the coverage zone. HPV can lay dormant for years and is still contagious during that time. You should read up on a disease before posting. Think.
