I took a pill similar to Plan B

Hey,

You have taken 'a pil similar to plan B' the day after intercourse?  This is the best time to take it,  most pills of this type are highly effective if taken from the morning after up to 72 hours later, the sooner the better. If taken within the first 24 hours these pills are 95% effective  If you have taken the pill, or if there are two of them 12 hours apart and you have taken those correctly then they should get on and do there job.

Like with any medication there may be side effects, this does not effect everyone but could make you feel sick or actually be sick, tender breasts, cramps in your lower tummy, headaches or dizzyness.  The pills may also make you have irregular bleeding, or your next period may arrive earlier than usual or later than usual, this is all normal. If you are usually regular and have not had your next period 7 days after the date it should be due, you may want to take a pregnancy test.  Otherwise as above they are pretty effective, so try not to worry and let them do their thing.  This may be a good time to look at other contraception as although these tablets exist it is not recommended they be used frequently.  I'm not sure about the US, but in the UK up to the age of 25 you can get free or reduced contraception and advice at a family planning clinic.  If you have one in your area they may be able to advise even over the phone if you need more questions answering.
