Have you started taking B Complex every single day - and a quality B Complex like the Metabolic Maintenance brand?
That’s what I’m doing right away and I’ll NEVER take meloxicam again. This side effect was not listed until I started searching.

Has it helped? I.e. has taking the B complex supplements helped - and has the hairloss situation improved? I'm about to do the same myself! Thanks.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone. .I started taking mobic 4 weeks ago after total hip replacement... I'm postmenopausal and lost a lot of hsir during menapause... but that hair loss doesn't compare to this. I have long hair mid back length. But has gotten so thin I'm going to have to cut it short.... I'm losing handfuls of hair every day. My scalp is viable. Hairless is all over my scalp not patchy or limited to hairline
I've taken my last mobic more I'm taking supplements biotin etc to hopefully grow my hair back

I also have noticed an increase in hair loss. I stated thinking of what I am doing different. ONLY the Meloxicam. I'm stopping it today. My hair has been falling out by the handful for the last week. Glad I did a little research. My hair is very thin to begin with, can't afford to loose any more.

I’ve always had pretty thick hair. At first, my scalp burned a lot and I thought it was from coloring my hair so I stopped. My hair is brittle and is falling out like crazy! I can see my scalp now and never could before. Then, I started bruising and my skin is really dry. My arms are covered with red, bloody looking dots that seem to spread out! My problems all started when my doctor put me on Meloxicam. I tried stopping it and the pain in my hip was so bad I stopped it. After 3 days the pain was unbearable, so I started it again. Then I read about interactions with other medications and one of mine was on the list and said it causes bleeding. I’m going to tell my doctor again about all of this and hope there’s something else for the pain. I want to get rid of all these scars and bruising and get my hair back!

Been on this drug and the last month I have lost 50% of my hair. Falls out root and all. Will miss this drug but stopping. Also had the burning sensation when they colored my hair. How long before your hair grows back?

Thank you all for sharing. I have been on Meloxicam for 2 months. My hair started shedding a little more a month ago. Then for the past 4 weeks it is coming out in clumps! I cringe every time I wash it or even comb it! I have thin hair anyway, and this has caused me to have to wear a hat every time I can. I know I shouldn't stop cold turkey but I cannot afford to take anymore of this. Thank you all!

Within a week my hair was coming out in huge amounts. I also started getting hot flashes, insomnia and gained 12 pounds in 10 days.

This med was the only change. And it didn’t even help my back and hip pain. I’m done and going back to Motrin. Praying my hair grows back. My scalp is clearly visible.

Just found this thread but man I feel so much better knowing I’m not alone. Everything I read states that it would be rare to have hair loss from Meloxicam so I was questioning my sanity. About six months ago I started taking 15 mg of Meloxicam a day for arthritis in my knee. Medicine helped tremendously for the knee swelling and pain. Several weeks later I noticed my hair looked thinner and quickly noticed I was losing hair rapidly. That medicine was the ONLY change in my life. Didn’t make the connection for weeks and immediately stopped the medication when I did. By that point I had lost so much hair. It started growing back but gosh it seems to be taking forever. My hair still looks so thin and some parts have grown in more quickly than others. I don’t know why this side effect is listed as more rare when clearly it’s not. Regret that medicine so much. To quote Cher, “If I could turn back tiiiiime” ugh
