I am highly depressed. People didnt take me for serious until I have went to a doctor. Doctor has noticed problem right away. He gave me Lexapro. After two weeks I have noticed that I am feeling better, but then something has changed. I am beginning to have suicidal thoughts. Is Lexapro linked to suicidal thoughts?

That should not be happening. The lexapro is made to stimulate making of serotonin in your brain. It is the brain chemical that have positive affects on your mood. I didnt have those problems he worked fine with me. You should share that with your doctor and he will know everything about what to do.

My brother was never on anti-depressants until he and his wife separated. After that he was on Lexapro for a couple months and I NEVER thought he was suicidal.

He hung himself in a rental property that he was staying in alone on 3/8/10 and his body was found on 3/11/10. (He was known for wanting to be left alone so he oftentimes wouldn't answer our calls, texts, etc., although we all checked in on him daily until he locked the doors and no one could get in).

HE WAS NOT LIKE THIS BEFORE THE LEXAPRO and about a week before his suicide his doctors DOUBLED his dosage of Lexapro.

PLEASE- ask your doctors to change your meds!
