1500 is a lot, be carefull, that's in heart attack territory.
You can do it, just try to taper off as best you can. It'll be rough, but if you can get through the two weeks of hell, you'll be on a much better side.
Also stay in touch with the site and post what you can, you have supporters out here
good luck

Hi Job, Don’t despair I can tell you a way to come off Tramadol with little or no withdrawal. There is a legal substance that you can buy on line called Kratom. I have come off Tramadol many time and used to dread the withdrawal systems so I know the apprehension you are going through. Kratom really is a god send for anyone coming off this stuff, if you order it now you should get it before your supply runs out in three days. It comes in what appears to be a powder but is actually finely crushed leaves, you need to order a bog standard leaf variety you don’t need extra strength. I would recommend a fifty gram bag to last you the five or six days of severe withdrawal but what Is important you buy from a site that looks professional and has some positive customer feedback. You can drink it in tea or mix it in juice but it tends not to dissolve in water so the best way is to get a tea spoon full and tip it under your tongue at the same time take a drink of juice and agitate it around your mouth before swallowing it, you will soon get the hang of it. It tastes revolting but that’s a small price to pay to ward off withdrawal. Kratom is not some herbal c**p mixture, it actually binds to the same receptors in the brain as Tramadol but has a very low addiction potential which is why it is legal. You can definitely not get addicted in a week or even a month but you only need it for a week. Take a teaspoon full to begin and if you need more in the early stage take another spoon, you may need three or four or more spoonful’s a day to begin with but you will soon reach the level you require depending on your Tramadol use. I wish you good luck and if you go for it let me know how you get on. Try and keep off this time Job take your addiction seriously and show it more respect. I was on and off for years before seeking proper help, but have been off almost 6 months this time. I approached my doctor and got on an addiction outpatients treatment programme. A lot of people posting on hear are still in denial most don’t even admit they are “addicts” they believe all drug addicts are sleeping in shop doorways. By your post and having had multiple relapses I think you are fully aware of your condition and want to do something about it. If I can do it anyone can do it but It’s a lonely battle if you try to do it on your own.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have ordered some fedex 2nd day, so hopefully it will get here in time. I tryed quiting cold turkey a couple years ago, and the realized just what horrors a person goes thru, but then Dad died and I had to to take care of my wheelchair bound mom and singlehandedly remodel thier old farm house to get it sold within 3 months so we could afford to take care of her. Was down to 300mg when Mom passed away and the all hell broke loose so I went back to 600-800mg and now am down to 400mg/day. Have no money for doctors or rehab, so just got to go thru it, thats all thats to it. They will not send Tramadol to Texas anymore, so its got to end. Hope I learn something to help others with this, as it looks like there are lots of people with same problems. Thanks again

Today is now day 30 clean for me! I admit, I have my rough days! But I have never felt better. Because I was a recreational user I've had to come work out why - and it was clear that it was from post natal depression, which i still have 3 years on. I am doing self therapy (only because I have to wait 5 weeks to see a counsellor). Ive accepted what's happened and opened up to a friend. The temptation is still there to take the stuff! Esp on a low day but I am starting to find other ways to make me happy. Ive joined the gym - Ive got my horse and my daughter that keeps me very busy. I run my own business from home but I have the possibility of going back to my old workplace and doing the job I wanted - so it is keeping me enthusiastic..... plus now that I am off the stuff my libido has gone through the roof!! lol
For anyone thinking of coming off it and scared - the first week is like having a really bad flu. But one you dont want to experience again. So I suggest time off work, someone to look after the kids - your bed, books, movies, lots of fresh fruit (esp berry type) and water and sleep it off or keep your mind occupied. You know you will start feeling better when you wake up one morning with a slight burst of energy (mine was getting up and taking down the xmas tree).. something that was never done until the end of Jan lol
Congrats to everyone thats kept clean and good luck with all that are ready to give it up :)

Another little tip to all, I dont know if you have heard of (PAWS) Post accute withdrawl syndrome it effects people who have been on drugs for a few months or years and have gone throught the accute stage ie the first week or so of the nasty phsical withdrawl. I like many others thought once Tramadol was out of my system after a few weeks I would be back to normal. This is not the case PAWS has many symtems that are to many to list so please read up on this because PAWS is to blame for most people relapsing, It comes and goes for months or even years after you stop using but it can be controled if you know the warning sighns and what sets it off. Please read up on PAWS because it is very important for you recovery.

Hi Guest like I said to Job Kratom will help greatly with your tramadol withdrawals. You can order it online. You will need about 50 grams of ordinary powdered leaf to get you through the first five or six days of the worst withdrawals. Read my previous post on how to take it and good luck.

Hi Veejane it’s like finely chopped leaves but it looks more like a powder when you get it. There are different ways of taking it, I only used it a couple of times to get off tramadol but found the best way was to fill a teaspoon with the Kratom and tip it under your tongue, as its resting there beneath your tongue have a good gulp of juice and agitate the powder with your tongue as you swallow it. You can mix it in a glass of juice or even tea but it won’t dissolve in water so floats about and sticks to the glass. It does taste pretty gross and can take some getting down but it will be worth it. I know Tramadol acts on Serotonin and to a lesser extent norepinephrine but what gives you most of the terrible withdrawal is when the Tramadol starts to clear from your opiate receptors. After all Tramadol is a synthetic opiate, that's why Kratom works so well with Tramadol. If you look up Kratom for opiate withdrawal you will find some useful information on it. Many people are using Kratom to come off all types of opiate drugs besides Tramadol. It’s a secret a lot of detox clinics would rather you knew less about.

I alternated ibuprofin and tylenol every so many hours. Many people swear by Kratom, but I didn't even know about it back then. If you are on day 3, you are entering the really tough part. I remember days 3-7 were brutal, but I survived. I was on it about 10 years or so and my withdrawl took 3 weeks to really get better
Don't give up, read the posts and advice on this site. We are the real deal and have lived it and want to see people like you get through it..

Hi.. I've been on tramadol for about 2 years now..I'm 25 years of age and my dosage was generaly anywhere from 100 mg a day to 300 mg a day which varied throughout the years.. I at first took it for a back injury at work.. But i noticed real fast when I ran out after a few months something was not right... I was acting very moody and emotional.. I couldnt stop having bowel movements and my sinus's ran so wet... All of that is really horrible and the worst part is when you get depressed and emotional... But none of that comes close to the fact you have been up for 36 40 hours straight and when you go to lay down once again you cant sleep beacuse your legs *knee area* is in some kind of tug of war with an invisible hammer... It's just brutal man.. And as far as i can see i am still going through some type of withdrawl... It's been over 3 months i can sleep occasionaly now and its not as noticeable... At first i tried some sleep aids but that didnt work.. Now after 12 weeks i can finally sleep kinda normal with some sleep aids because they help to block off the knee leg thing thats going on... Ive been addicted to alcohol before but let me tell you... This is just a nightmare. The last thing you want to do is to ever start it period. And I'm not sure why its a non narcotic... Thats the only reason i started it. Just know that feeling on day 3-9 is the absolutely peak.. But you will still feel like you did on day 1 and 2 al the way to 12 weeks + .. It hasnt stoped yet still for me and i wish you guys the best.
