just had external hemorrhoid surgery On 5/26/2015. I had one smaller sized external that was pretty much just a flat flappy piece of skin. I've had a problem with roids since I was young, probably about 16-17, im 25 now. After giving birth to my second child in 2013 Ive had a "external hemorrhoid" that rarely gives me a lot of pain but looks terrible. I decided to see if I could have it removed, and the doctor agreed if wouldn't go away on its own.

My my pain hasnt been bad at all. I'm not taking pain killers, and I plan on returning to work today less then 24 hours after the removal. i was terrified to go through with the procedure after reading all the horror stories online but I'm SO happy I did.

Sounds great! Everyone is different of course, but one thing you have to take into consideration is post BM pain. I had 2 external ones removed just a week ago. And like you the same night and day after it I felt fine, wondered what all the fuss was about. Same thing day 2, until! Until I had my first BM and it sort of set you straight again, haha here's the pain. Not sure this will happen to you, but something to be aware of. I feel now 1w in better, and only post BM pain is stopping my from more or less feeling normal. But when it comes I'm out for 1-3h at least. A great need to time your meds, and for me eat no more than you need to.

I had my first BM last night, a little over a day after surgery. I was scared, it hardly hurt at all, I got in a warm bath to clean up afterwards and took some Advil PM to sleep. I woke up in a little more pain then the previous day, but took a dose of ibuprofen and have felt decent all day. I have remained working, I mostly stand and walk around at work. I have minimal pain still, just looks like a little swollan ball of skin by my anus, but I've heard that is normal? I know I also have a very high pain tolerance, but think my low amount of pain may be due to the fact my hem wasn't giving me issues when it was removed? Not sure... But I'm still scared to pass my next BM. My last was a pretty good size, and I had very very minimal bleeding. I'm thanking the heavens right now that this is all going so well.
