I am 20 years old. Ive had an external hemorrhoid for a couple of years now. It has never given me any problems. It itches every now and then, but nothing major. I want to get it removed, its embarassing. But i've done some research and it seems like all of the surgery's are very extreme and for hemorrhoids that are causing alot of pain to the patients, but fortunately mine causes me no pain whatsoever. I want to get it removed in the most effective and least painful way. I dont think creams would work, because I want it GONE, I dont just want to shrink it. And its not small, but its not big either. What would be my best options?

Hi

you need to go and see a colorectal surgeon first of all. They willtell you what they think they can do.  First thing they did for me was use a laser and it was painless.  i went to the appt on my lunch break, its like a pin prick for a few seconds.  in my case we tried that twice, but it didn't work for me.   also had banding done on the internal ones, didn't work either.  After 9 months of trying different procedures, i had to have surgery.

They will advise on the best option, so you need to see the surgeon to decide.
