When I got comfortable at the hospital they just handed me a thick black permanent marker and told me to mark out the area I wanted taken off by myself. The surgon didn't even stay in the room to help me or listen to what I wanted.
I now have un-even labia and two very hard and very sore lumps at the top, under my clitoris. At first I thought it would go down and it would all be fine but it isn't, I'd really like to get the whole process again but I have to wait until after my exams are finished!
Can anyone help me out? Do you know if it's possible to get labiaplasty twice? Does the swelling eventually go down, even after over a month?

I am 5 weeks out from labiaplasty/ hood reduction. I have had major discomfort since surgery, as the sutures haven't dissolved well, have been poking me and spitting out in pieces. My scars start in the folds between outer and inner labia and are slowly healing. The hard bumpiness and redness at each suture site appears to be getting better by the week. There are very 'hard' areas where the labia pieces were stiched together (pie dissection). That is also feeling more normal with time. Trust me, I was freaking out in the first two weeks.
I had the surgeon clip the ends of four sutures that were poking me in week three. Being in week five now, I'm told to do a lot of massaging with vitamin e oil. My skin has reactions to vitamin e so I'm using tea tree oil.
The labia are not perfectly matching, but they are much smaller and anonymous looking now. The entire area feels a bit too tight, but I'm sure, as with every surgery I've had, that feeling relaxes with time. With every week I feel a little more comfortable and confident with the outcome.

I was concerned (paranoid) after a few weeks as to how it was healing so rang him and he made an appointment straight away. He had a look and reasured me everything was fine and doing well. I can't believe how many of you have had stiches come apart and are just leaving it. You should go back straight away! Even if it has been done on the nhs they still have a duty of care and responsibility as to what they have done. If you leave it it will heal wrong, if you go straight away they can re-stitch it. I went to see the nurse at my docs at one point cos I was paranoid again and she said it all looked fine. She was quite impressed and hadn't seen anyone who had had it done. They are all nice if you give them a chance. I went back to work after two weeks. It was a bit uncomfotable but got better with time. Its a delicate area and needs to be treated delicately.
With something as important as 'your bits' GO AND SEE A DOCTOR DON'T LEAVE IT. THAT IS THEIR JOB. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE PAID FOR!! You do need to be patient it had changed alot after 6-12 months. Hope this helps someone.
