I had a labia reduction 6 weeks ago. I'm 20 years old and until a few weeks ago I had pain and discomfort everyday of my life. My inner labia hung 2 inches or more past my major labia. Needless to say, even with a month of pain, itching and frustration, I'm glad I did the surgery.

I lost my virginity to my boyfriend before the surgery and I was so scared to tell him why I couldn't be around him for 2 weeks after the surgery. But finally he asked... Since I told him the truth he's been supporting me through the entire healing process. I am amazed. Guys will not care either way... the good ones will love you for who you are.

If you aren't experiencing pain from large labia, then do NOT do the surgery. I accidentally tore a few stitches during the process, which caused me 2x the pain, discomfort and itching. Even after 6 weeks it still itches occasionally; a mixture of healing and rearrangement of skin (my outer labia touch now).

I, too, thought my labia would just be reduced in size, but after i got home I realized I had no inner labia at all. So if you do this surgery, then definitely speak with your surgeon about this issue. Frankly, I'm thankful I don't have to deal with my inner labia... I'm not afraid to be in a bathing suit anymore, etc.

Hope this helps someone!!

Hey there, I was wondering how you are doing now and if you like the results? If you could barley feel any pain how come you had to walk like a duck? You haven't been able to sit when you had it done either? I'm thinking about getting mine too and your feedback seemed helpful so thanks!

hi there - hard to descibe - no pain, but where u are swollen u walk like a duck, and a horrible pulling sensation on the stitches made it a bit awkward to sit down! but honestly, no pain. everyone will have a differnt story to tell - some horrendous, some not so bad. dont take your decision lightly, no turning back if it does go wrong! im over a year on now, and wish wish wish id done int years ago, best of luck, if u want any advice please ask x

Hi Emzone, thank you for your offer of questions! I had my op 6 days ago...pain wise I am not too bad, trying to take it v easy as fearful of stitches coming out as I've read on here. My concern is that when I have dared a peek, it looks a mess! I know I have to give it time and it will prob heal well but my surgeon said she always use the 'trim' method (not wedge) and so it looks quite ragged at the mo....wondering does this settle with healing? How has yours recovered?

i always say to everyone DO NOT LOOK! as you have unfortunatley looked too early and prob scared yourself with what you look like. please dont look again for over a week - promise me you wont! everything will be swollen and angry looking. u wont look 'normal' completely until week 6 when everything has properly healed. i was completely back to normal including sex, keep fit etc etc by week 9. it really is early days x

I had my surgery 7 weeks ago n im so happy with the result. I can remember the pain being awful in the first 10 days but after that it eased off n i was less reliant on painkillers. There will be some massive swelling there for about 3-4 weeks but dnt be alarmed as this will go down. Xxxx

hi, i just had my left side done yesterday and i am very thankful as i have not had any pain.  i only needed 1 advil for a headache. i was worried about the  pain, but am glad to say that it is possible have with minimal discomfort. i stayed in bed the entire day and i am using a pare bottle when going to the bathroom  to keep things clean. if it is the worry  of the pain that is stopping someone  from getting this done, there is still the chance of very little  to no pain. i hope this  helps anyone in her decision

Hi, i had my op 5 weeks ago, and its healed really well. When i first had mine done it was awful, i was bleeding bad for the first 5 days and clotting. I got told to apply pressure and it went. I took pictures to look back on the progress over the weeks, that helped alot because i could see massive changes. it was hard overall i was in and out of the bath cleaning and salt bathing. But it was all worth it in the end. If you can do all that i would defiantly have it done. hope that helped somebody.
