Im considering Labiaplasty to fix one of my labia minoras that is alot larger than the other and hangs down.
I want the surgery because..
1. Im very self conscious about my large labia minora and Im scared of what a boyfriend/girlfriend (im bisexual) will think when they see it.
2. The larger labia minora hangs down really low and rubs against my underwear and bottoms. It is very painfull to wear jeans with this problem and Im obsessed with jeans, I love jeans.
Anyways I just want to know your opinions of Labiaplasty/Labioplasty. Thank you!

In your case I think it's perfectly fine to have labiaplasty. You have a real issue, if it rubs against your underwear and bottoms and causes you pain when you walk, you should absolutely do it. But what I don't like about labiaplasty is that they are promoting an image of "perfect vagina" that we should all crave for! o.O Please! They have "perfectionize" every single part of our body, so now it's vagina's turn now. It's been hidden for quite too long! XD I'm just wondering what's next? Resize your kidneys and change a shape of your lungs only for 5000 dollars ! I wish you good luck whit your surgery and quick recovery. ;-)

I too had lots of discomfort with my large labia. I love exercising and was increasingly finding myself irritated and sore from the rubbing, especially against the seams of whatever I was wearing.
I had a labiaplasty about 4 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The recovery wasn't too bad. Just make sure you wear skirts or tights until all the stitches dissolve.
Do lots of research on your surgeon. Choose someone who has performed many procedures, has feedback from patients you can look or hear about and make sure the surgeon is educated in the latest methods.
Having the surgery will make you feel so much better about yourself.
Go for it!

The truth is nobody will ever care more about what your labia looks like than you. So if you are concerned about what somebody else will think, don't be. There are many men & women that love large/small labia. Everyone is unique and so is your labia. :)
If it is causing you pain or discomfort, then that is a different issue. Keep in mind that there are risks with surgery and reducing the size of your labia is not different. Just be aware of the pros and cons, find a REALLY skilled surgeon with tons of experience and ask lots of questions. If you decide to go through with it, make sure you do it for you & are fully prepared.
Best wishes & may you find what is best for you!

Be very careful. It sounds as if you are considering this for a legitimate health concern as opposed to cosmetic, so it sounds ok. But find the best surgeon and talk to patients if you can about him/her. If you can't afford the very best surgeon, then find a different answer because the scalpel is a gift in the right hands but in the wrong hands is - not. Good luck

I had the surgery and done correctly it can be awesome. Get the proper surgeon. In California that is Dr John Disaia. He did mine. :)

Hi everyone!
My name is Emilie and I am a senior at UCSD writing my honors thesis. The focus of my research topic is labiaplasty. I am interested in women's experiences with the surgery and what drives them to get the surgery- basically my aim here is to get to know women who have gotten this surgery done or are seriously considering getting it done so I can know more about labiaplasty and the women who have gotten the procedure. So far I haven't been able to find a lot of information on labiaplasty experiences out there, and it would be a privilege to be able to learn more firsthand from the women involved! I am passionate about women's health and have a lot to learn, and that is why I'm researching this thesis.
I would love to hear about your experiences, either via phone or email/message. Any information you give me will be strictly confidential and absolutely anonymous if used in my thesis, which is not set to be published.
If you are interested at all, please send me a private message or comment below with a way that I can contact you!
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!! :)
