Emergency contraceptives have side effects. Your period being late (or early) is a very common one. It can also be heavier or lighter.
If you were within a week of expecting your period it is unlikely you'd get pregnant even without the Plan B. You would have ovulated about a week before so the egg would not be viable.
Again, these are common side effects. When you might have your period is a guess. It can be "off" for several months. The side effects vary in all women and also according to when you took it in your cycle.
You can always take a home test. Be sure to use your first morning urine, wake up pee, for the best accuracy.
