Wow !!! I had have all the symtoms for the past month. Have had every test they could think to give me. Even probes attached to my head. Also suffered from severe panic attacks and been in therapy. But, what bothers me is that it is really scarey not knowing if it is physical (like possible heart attack or stroke) and mental (how could my mental state possibly debilatate me this severly). It may be some kind of chemical imbalance.

I am not Dr. and have to tell you I am 6 months out from open heart (valve replacement) I had all of the symtoms you mention and had a bunch of tests and the usual Dr. BS about all the things it could be. Here take two more pills and see if that helps. I might be the pills we have you on and the dosage etc. etc. yak yak yak. Nothing worked and spacey most of the time. I finally had enough and started to research things for myself. What I ended up with is trying to eliminate all the possiblilities. One of them was a pinched nerve in the neck. I want to a chiropractor. and decided I would give him a shot for a couple of treatments. Since going a month ago I not had any reoccurances of the problem. I have just increased my intake of water in the last week and feel even better.

Spaciness - like you've been drugged. I know just how you feel. A bit like you're stoned. Mine starts with a quick head rush - then across my forehead, my head feels very full. No pain - just an aura-type feeling. Very scary and causes anxiety;

Sounds much like mine but again it could be any one of a number of problems but I now think that mine was a pinched nerve in my neck.
My two visits to the chiropractor seemed to do the trick and there was no pain. Probably yours is something else but this was mine.

I also have been feeling the same type of symptoms. For the last month or so I have been feeling in a fog all day. My body wants to move but my mind does not. When I wake up in the morning I do not want to get out of bed I feel dizzy almost. At night I have a very hard time sleeping, as I will jerk and wake myself up at al hours of the night. I have had 2 ct scans, blood tests, urine, stool, pelvic exam. Etc everything came back amazing. I have also been having cramping and etc. It came back I have a mild yeast infection. I have anxiety so immediatly think the worst of everything. I think the meds they give me will amke things worse or make me develop new symptoms. My Dr says that My body (bc I have anxiety) feels like it is getting ready to fight something major. so it tells me to shut down my bowels and not to eat. So I have built up a lot of stomach acid and he prescribed me some prevacid. Told me to eat right and start excersicing regularly. I also am not a lazy person I have 3 children who keep me on my toes. I am an otherwise healthy 22yr old woman. I do have a lot of stress in my life right now and I understand that this could all be caused from stress BUT my anxiety will not let me believe it. I keep thinking there is something very wrong with me that everyone keeps missing. I just want to wake up one morning and be back to my normal self. If anyone would like to talk please email me at

I was awake all night and havnt gotten any good sleep lately.

My head is just in a buzz now after reading 14 pages, so need to come back, read again, take notes, compare - but right now - share......
1965 model boy, suspect had all this mildly from about 14 when migraines with aura began, about same time a malicsious whack on top of head with books on a bus ride by classmate. Migraines are hereditary and a fix for them now is to swallow lecithin granules x2 dessert spoons, wear pinhole sunglasses to counter the visual aura.
If I am ever anxious it is due to the symptoms or not feeling well. Generally a happy boy like Neil of sevenUp fame, who then turned loner, drifter, now councillor on town board-Neil, not me.
Headaches are not part of my symptoms of foggy head, light headed feeling. Think it all gotr worse after a savage 'flu that I thought I was better after a week - rode to school for exams flunked Calculus exam - whole class was always in a room with 3 foot wide window in one corner - the rest was flouro lighting
flouro lighting in Coles AUST supermarket toiletry aisles now lower set and brighter - I go in looking for Solvol soap and suddenly lose all train of thought of what I am looking for, what it looks like, feel odd and need to leave supermarket - can leave me like it until dark sets or sleep after.
Only last few weeks found reference to an eye condition I know I have but do nothing for. One has mentioned astigmatism - I have this, can see it looking at the moon at night and get a ghost image of it at a kilter, not same looking at a moon visble during the day. Also see the traffic lights and street lights at night have same hosting, but ever makes me feel weird or odd after - I just know that is astigmatism.
The other eye thing is a muscle imbalance, weaker or stronger eye muscle involved and is called esophoria. The clincher I found for the esophoria in last few weeks is that it and or convergence insufficiency/ convergence excess/fusional vergence dysfunction can give patient : eyestrain, headaches, decreased comprehension, inability to concentrate while reading, excessive tearing , blurrd vision
Not sure yet if these symptoms set in head for duration after but mine can and do.
Cold, a few people have said lower temps or colder months symptoms are worse...well , it has taken me thirty years to work out as soon as it gets cooler say 10C air temp I can experience our symptom set, and as one has said improves when sun comes out. I spent the last winter hiding inside until sun came out. Have found a few summer mornings that have been damp cold and near 8 to 12C that these symptoms of ours have set in.
Also, one day two years ago was 4C - milk storage temp - I was trying to analyse - yes, a girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with the second moment I set eyes on - called me very analytical...trying to get on top of how to dissemble a new old car I bought - came down with weird , random, where-did-that-come-from ? thoughts entered head - symptoms of hypothermia I am told by mountain climbers.
Never asked a doctor more on this after blood tests at 17 after the bad flu and balance issues too - bloodtests said I was better, nothing wrong with me, was very weak and lethargic for months, maybe years after that 'flu.
Never really been able to put words to how I felt, almost unable to function to think and describe while they struck and unable or want to after recovery.
Last two years getting worse as cold onset so must assault beautiful doctor soon with an abridged version of events using some of your descriptions while I am on what i call auto-pilot
It changed me, thought it was all just part of growing up but obs of other grown up people over the years says this is not so.
I can be active and very energetic for hours, am self employed to hide the symptoms so need to work hard over hotter months to cover colder months.
In me the cold is deffo the main trigger as have repeatedly found cold warehouse style stores it creeps up on me, thn in mates own warehouse too - made him install a sump oil burning heater called Kroll and found it did me wonders when he called on me for diagnostics or just be in his shop. A quick visit to snow country did it to me after a short while out of the car, going into concrete solid buildings or even cold fire staircases.
If it is not cold as a trigger it could be esophoria being triggered by cold
I was in the middle of the winter mind fog when the beautiful Jen came into my life - struggled with as expected but worse so by 'this' when I told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, by the time winter subsided she had left town to persue her happiness with my suggestion. If it was not for this set of symptoms I would have followed. Our loss of friendship is the greatest regret of this set of symptoms and I owe it to myself to go charging like a wounded bull with my doctor - refusing fms or anxiety suggestion or meds.
I will be back...

Like i said, I'll be back - and here I am :)
Another symptom someone described was the cinematography effect of a bouncy camera ??? I can also get this and walking single file behind people on bushwalks does it and again leaves me on auto pilot. I once saw a few years ago on a serial TV program, a hospital one, giving the viewer an idea that the view we were seeing through the eyes of the sick person lost in the bush, either after a serious snake bite, dehydration lost for days etc - what we saw as viewers is exactly how i see things when this goes on so the cinematography industry knows what to do with their camera footage, lenses etc to give the idea of an unwell person,
also, wearing a peaked baseball cap seems to do similar while sharing a forward view and the underside of the peak in focus.
what concerns me here is many are a casual visitor over a short period of time ? no real answers coming up but sounds like chiropractory, massage therapy with neck muscle release and accupuncture are offered as helpful. yet no real diagnosis name coming up - maybe our bodies react this way to many forms of illness/conditions??
I know a relative with a history of balance stuff has given up on diagnosis, had it for nearly forty years, calcified carotid artery ? was either a diagnosis or suggestion by a doc.
Would be nice if all in here contributed came back for a reunion :)

Gosh, this just gets bigger and bigger, on page 13 someone mentions stumbling, bumbling of well, altitude sickness - hypoxia an over supply of CO2 in your bloodstream , had similar caused by I believe, a mechanical respiratory condition due to weak transverse abdominal muscles - after 8 months of doctor no gooding, a physio suggested an exercise to stimulate, invigorate and strengthen the transverse abdominals with a belly button sucking in style sit up. Within days i was back to mountain bushwalking after unable to walk more than a block for eight months.A year later started to notice the symptoms again, started the exercise again and warded that away again. An ultrasound at the first tim revealed my TAs were half the thickness they should have been and were weaker than internal and oblique muscle used as the comparison !

Did you check for Lyme disease? get the Western Blot test done. Find a Lyme Literate Doctor (LLMD)and talk with them about your symptoms, you will be surprised.

Hi ! I have been dealing with the issues for the last 5 years ! As everybody says on this forum, all official medical tests came normal (ENT, MRIs, CT, Bood, Pressure, Thyroid). Still, I'm not someone who does anxiety, but it's a catch 22, because you become anxious to get dizzy again. I have the same symptoms, sometimes a bit of pressure in the ears but when I swallow it goes away, sometimes the vision is blurry and got my eyes checked recently, no cold. The only thing I can think of is something physical. I am working sitting 8 hours 5 days a week at a computer, and since this "sickness" started, did not do lots of physical activity. I'm 28, 6'0 and 200lbs. I noticed however that during all these years, my neck has been cracking a lot, pain between shoulderblades gets insane sometimes, and when I'm off work for 3-4 days, the symptoms starts to go away. The only treatment really that helped me a lot are Physio, Osteopath, Massage and that last is Chiro. Since we have balance nerves in the shoulders, in the neck, the optic nerve and also the ears (everything is connected back there), if you are a lot tense, or you may have pinched something even though it doesnt hurt that bad, you might check this out. This week has been a pretty bad one, feel #1 when I'm sitting, #1 when I,m going to bed, as soon though when I stand up, I feel like I'm standing on a boat, I'm walking and feel I'm going to fell. But my shoulders, neck and upper back seem to be all jammed up, so since I'm standing, the shoulders are putting pressure on the middle back and neck, this might be why its getting worse. One thing I noticed is that when I'm having a beer or two, the symptoms almost dissapear.
I understand this awful feeling. Every doctors will tell you it's anxiety or stress and will clear out all symptoms, which is normal, but won't give you a clue of what to do next. The symptoms are unfortunately not in the head, it's not normal to walk like youre Neil Armstrong or to have a slurry talk or to be fatigued all the time even if you sleep 10 hours.
Cheers !
